Great experience
In January 2023 i dislocated my ankle and fractured my tibia and fibia. Dr. Calder was St. Francis hospital specialist that operated on me twice, once for an exterior fixator and then to put in plates and screws a month later. I had nothing but great results and care under Dr. Calder. Very personable, knowledgeable and capable. I have healed nicely. Highly recommend

Totally missed the diagnosis as told to me by a second opinion. Didn't even interpret an x-ray properly!

Very aggravating experience. Surgery first of Feb. End of June have only seen doctor twice. First visit was ok but I forgot to get PT orders. Took 1 week to get them faxed to me. Next appt was not entered in system so doctor was not there when I arrived. Called for several weeks to get appt rescheduled. Finally talked to the office manager who got me scheduled. Next visit ok. Next visit Dr wasn’t in the office. They said I canceled which I had not. I guess everybody canceled since dr. wasn’t even there. I asked to talk to his asst and was told she was too busy to talk to me. Am not going back. I do believe my leg is healing well and surgery was done well. Dr was nice the 2 times I saw him.

Dr Calder is a very skilled physician. He has a big heart, too . Many times the SAINT Francis Children’s Hospital does not have children’s ortho on call but if Dr Calder is on call for adults he will do all he can to care for the children in need of ortho care. Not all of the adult ortho docs will do this. He has care for me and my 88 year old mother with expert results and a confident feeling in our hearts about his sincerity and total focus on each patient.

Whatever you do, do NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD to Dr. Calder. Painful treatments are an obvious aspect of the orthopedic field. However, Dr. Calder never discussed with us - much less offered - any pain management options when he abruptly 'treated' (to excruciating screams) our 5-year-old daughter's broken leg. After follow-up consultation with a different orthopedic surgeon (at a differnt office), we finally learned how competent, compassionate treatment is *supposed* to be handled with children.
