Great doc, but bad staff
a day agoNewThe doctor I feel is very Thorough, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and gives the impression that he is there for you so you can get better. It did take me a long time for someone to call me back for an appointment the first time. I went to the office maybe the almost end or middle of March and had to go back The beginning of April. I had some issues where I have certain medical diagnoses which restrict me from a normal MRI machine . The MRI service told me that due to those exceptions. My doctors office would need to do a prior authorization before they could do my MRI. I had never heard of this before so I made sure and asked. Do you want me to call the doctors office or the insurance? They said the doctors office. I’ve worked in pharmacy for almost 20 years and I know for a fact prior authorizations regardless if it’s for medication for a medical supply or service, they are all done through the prescriber. Great doctor, bad staff.

Staff lack compassion & flexibility patients need
Scheduling a first-time appointment here is frustrating. I left multiple messages—no response. The system requires a referral just to review my request. Despite submitting my medical records, medication history, and exam reviews, it wasn’t enough. The office manager insisted on a referral, even after confirming receipt of my records. I explained my insurance doesn’t require one, but she refused to help. As I’m relocating, I need care to avoid running out of medication and triggering migraines, yet I received no support.Instead of offering solutions, I faced unnecessary roadblocks. I can’t speak to the physician’s expertise, but the process is impersonal and inefficient, and the staff lacks the compassion and flexibility patients need. If this is their first impression, I have serious concerns about the level of support and care I would receive in the future.

Poor Office Communication
I had called Dr. Klafter's office six weeks in advance of my appointment and left a detailed voice message (you can never reach a live person) asking if the doctor performed a specific test I wanted to have done. I asked his secretary to please let me know so I wouldn't waste my time or his. Nobody ever called me back! I decided to keep the appointment since it's so hard to get one in the first place, and sure enough I was told, 'sorry, I don't do that'. And that was the only reason I was there. If only his secretary had taken a few minutes out of her day to find out if he did the procedure and then called me back, this rather uncomfortable visit could have been avoided since I didn't want to waste my time as much as he (quite obviously) didn't want to waste his.

Dr. Klafter diagnosed my MS ten years ago.
Dr. Klafter has been a blessing to myself and my wife. After diagnosis my MS he chose the correct medication and has guided me through the years together with Dr. Dan Boggus my long time GP. I feel very lucky to have both of them.

Doubt cluster headaches speciaity
My family member had a referral to Dr Klafter for chronic headaches he'd been experiencing for years. He reviewed his referral and said because he had facial pain another doctor would be more appropriate. The wait to see this physician is 8 months. Cluster headaches cause severe pain on one side of the head, accompanied by symptoms such as nasal discharge, or red or tearing eyes. Exactly what my loved one has been experiencing. He went to a neurologist at Lakeland Health System who diagnosed him in one visit. Why Dr Klafter didn't recognize his symptoms as such and agree to see him makes me wonder if he is a specialist in Cluster headaches. Very disappointed.

Dr Klafter Honest Review
Dr. Klafter requires a referral be submitted and then weeks after they finally say they received it, we’re told he’ll take another 2 weeks (or more who knows) to look over the referral and then he’ll decide whether or not your a good fit to be his patient. This is required before they will even schedule an appointment (which they’re currently scheduling 3-4 month/12-16 weeks out already). All the while you’re waiting to get help from a doctor and not knowing if he will even entertain the idea of helping you. No Health “care” here obviously! Dr. Klafter, either help people or don’t, don’t put people through added unnecessary stress and make them waste precious time when they could just go to another Dr if you’re not willing to help them.

I am a patient of Dr. Klafter, also a retired Reg. Nurse. I felt very confident in making comparison to other Doctors, in regards to: Knowledge, mannerism, "down to earth" approach to patient care, through, clear patient instructions/education .... the list goes on

Dr. Mark Klafter is an exceptional physician. He first spent time in listening carefully to my husband (his elderly patient), thoroughly reviewed all of his many pertinent medical records, and then ordered additional tests in search of a treatment for a most challenging and unusual problem. He impressed us with his passion for diagnosing complex, unusual, and complicated medical conditions. He seems to have encyclopedic knowledge, which is evidence that he stays on top of neurological research and the latest advancements. His superior skills, genuine empathy, and compassion have earned him the highest respect of former patients, whom we know, as well as reputable physicians in the Orlando area. Awilda, his office manager, is a wonderful complement to Dr. Klafter’s success.

I saw Dr. Klafter due to memory issues. He conducted a series of tests and reassured me that I am not suffering from early Alzheimers, which was a tremendous relief. He ordered an MRI and EEG to detect any other sources of my symptoms. He dictated a recap of our appointment to my PCP so I could hear it and be fully informed. His manner is very professional and I never felt rushed. Would definitely recommend Dr. Klafter.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! AND I NEVER MADE IT IN THE DOOR!! I was given a referral to see Dr. Klafter (or someone in his office) bc I have MG, MS, Neuropathy... so I called his office to make the appt. A receptionist called to say that he nor anyone in his office could do anything for me!! They knew (SOMEHOW) that I had seen some other Neuros in area & dismissed me with ABSOLUTELY NO REFERRALS TO ANYONE ELSE. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

My wife has been fighting leg pain and numbness in her feet for 6 months, had MRI, and nerve conduction study with emg - quite painful. She has issues with her lumbar discs. It was also discovered that she was diabetic. Her ortho surgeon wanted her to see a neurologist as he was concerned that there might be nerve damage. Tried to get appt with Dr. Klafter. Office said "Sorry, the doctor won't see anyone that had an EMG from some other doctor". What arrogance! Must be in it for the money.

Dr. Klafter is an outstanding doctor who is very thorough. He covers all bases when doing his diagnosis. He is very knowledgeable in his field of practice and goes above and beyond when doing an exam. His appointments are not time-based - he takes however much time is needed when meeting with the patient. He is very personable and cares about his patient. In my lifetime I have been to many neurologists, and had even given up in finding what I considered a good one - until I met Dr. Klafter!
