Dr Self is direct but also compassionate and therefore probably tells many people what they dont want to hear. I am a two time cancer survivior and find her very knowledgeable and thorough. She actually takes time to look through your chart and explain things to you.

Patients would be lucky to have her as their endocrinologist. I no longer see her for I have moved. I miss her every time I see my new Dr. If you are having trouble getting an appointment it is because she has a lot of patients needing her smart sensitive approach to diseases that can make us all feel crappy. She knows this and never dismissed me as a person or my concerns on how I take care of myself daily. Staff always helpful and pleasant for the most part.

I was referred to Dr. Self by another physician. After a week of trying to get an appointment the referring Physician office was told Dr. Self is reviewing my information and would get back to them and let them know if she would "take" me or not. Obviously Dr. Self isnt in the business of seeing patients. I found this process not only absurd, but also offending. I promptly called Dr. Selfs office and let them know becaue of the process I no longer wanted to see this Doctor, and I use that term lightly. I have been suffering for months whilst trying to get in to this office with a "doctor" that has a God complex... NO THANK YOU. Do not waste your time with this mess! There's to many caring Physicians in this town to have to put up with this mess of a office. All you have to do is read her reviews to determine how awful she is! I'm actually thankful I found out before getting involved

Beyond terrible. I waited months to see this doctor only to be met with a dismissive attitude. She ordered a ton of lab tests but NEVER called me back with any of the results. I eventually got a MA to tell me to follow up with my PCP and that my thyroid scan "just looks like someone with thyroid disease" but still no results. The MD also chastised me over a medication my PCP prescribed me---but then told me to follow up with him! What a waste of time, money, effort!

Only concerned with the lab numbers. Not concerned about the total health of the patient as a whole. Very short doesn’t have a very good bedside manner! Always feel like she’s in a rush, in my opinion doesn’t matter.

Dr. Self has treated my Type 1 Diabetes and other autoimmune disorders for many years. She is an outstanding diagnostician and has both a practical and caring approach with patients. Of all the physicians I see, she is the best.

Run and run fast. Dr. Self is your typical, egotistical, arrogant yet ignorant endocrinologist. I saw her once. Throughout our entire meeting all she did was blame all of my many symptoms and concerns (I have hashimotos and hypothyroidism) on me being over weight. She then took me off Nature-throid (T4/T3 combo) to Tirosint (T4 only). Still experiencing many symptoms I went in for my follow up lab work. I learned all she was testing was my TSH. I asked why only TSh and she fired me as a patient
