Review
After my initial diagnosis for a procedure; I left message after message to schedule it. Finally went there in person so they couldn’t ignore me. After my procedure, there was no follow up, no phone call, nothing. After many more messages, got back in. Dr Hogan is a nice fellow, and seem s knowledgeable but couldn’t really explain why it didn’t work. After another exam, another medication that didn’t work, he recommended a much more in depth procedure but couldn’t say if it would actually work. I gave up at that point. Between the horrendous staff and no results I’m moving on.

Incorrect Diagnosis, Doesn't Listen
My visit to Dr. Hogan was to diagnose what caused one incident of pain and blood in my urine, my bladder all of a sudden not emptying completely and uncomfortableness. I was diagnosed with Over-Active Bladder (OAB) after a cystoscopy. Before I left, he prescribed AZO, which I told him I already used, but he loudly and repeatedly told me it was not an over-the-counter product, gave me a sample of a drug that would exacerbate my already severe dryness, could not suggest any natural products and then sent me a letter that I was not welcome to return. Both my husband and I switched to another urologist who, after an exam and CT scan, diagnosed me with having passed a kidney stone, the stones blockage had caused a “pouch” causing me not to fully empty my bladder and not OAB. Dr. Hogan was not thorough, he does not listen to his patients symptoms or concerns and his diagnosis was incorrect. Both my husband and I do not recommend this doctor.

No time to listen
Capable doctor, very task oriented, talks fast and hard to get a word in. However, I had an issue with the front with insurance , he just told me to shut up because he had other patients. So, I have a choice to find another doctor. Also, if you are a patient with Medicare, their link to Medicare hasn’t been updated since the first week of January when I met my deductible. The front desk wanted a copay, I refused. It’s not my problem they don’t have a reliable system. I even pulled my Medicare account up on my phone and they wouldn’t accept it. The doctor when I finally met with him was visually annoyed. Again , not my problem. If they haven’t updated their system in 4 months that’s their issue. Bottom line, when you tell a patient to shut up because he has other patients, it’s time to take your business elsewhere

scheduled surgery
I was told I had a procedure scheduled for July 7, 2022 and would be receiving a follow up email with my information for the procedure. I had heard nothing and received no information. On June 27th I called and attempted to find out what I needed to know for the procedure. I was told the the email went out June 3rd. I checked spam and there was nothing. I asked what email it was sent to and the gave me an incorrect email. I tried to get information but the person on the phone couldn't help me and did not try to help. Hopefully someone will read this and contact me. I have no address or any instructions at all. Please Dr. Hogan, have someone that can give me what I need to know.

Went to him for a number of years. He was responsive, professional and generally affable during that time. Had a passing discussion with him about CV during my last visit, unrelated to any urology issues. We disagreed on a number of points, statistics and other matters, and he became angry and profane (I did not curse back) resulting in the termination of our relationship. He sent me a certified letter stating that he was terminating our relationship essentially due to my refusal to abide by his mask policy, which was puzzling to me because I wore a mask the whole time I was in his office and never refused to so. As a lawyer for over 40 years and a former corporate executive, I thought his behavior was unprofessional in this particular instance, but I did find him competent during the years I was his patient.

6 years ago, I was diagnosed with bladder cancer, still having lived in NJ. So I went to various doctors who’re specialized in this area, visiting many doctors around the tri-state area to treat me. When I moved to TX, I was nervous with finding a new doctor, but my family doctor, Matthew Powellson, referred me to Dr. Hogan. I can’t praise him enough, alongside his nurses. I’m very grateful for finding him, and I recommend him for anyone who shares my cancer. Right now, I’m cancer-free!
