Dr. Michael Galgano, MD

Dr. Galgano always explained everything clearly in a way I understood. He treated me respectfully with thoughtful consideration. He went above and beyond to help me have the best experience throughout my surgery and treatment. Every time I saw him, he knew every aspect of my case and treatment without looking at my chart. He spoke with me, not through the computer at me. He treated me like my procedure and experience was the most important. He is an excellent surgeon and physician. I highly recommend him to anyone needing surgery on their spine. His decisions dictated the outcome of my being able to walk the rest of my life.

Dr. Galgano is such a great doctor! Dr. Galgano was so easy to talk to, honest, caring, and humble! Not only that, his staff was extremely kind and helpful. I 12 out of 10, definitely recommend if you need spine surgery!

I literally left his office and cried in my car. He made me feel like I was stupid. He didn’t review any of my previous sent x rays, MRI, or notes. He said the my back pain was not from my scoliosis and my scoliosis would not get worse. I’ve been living in this body my entire life and done tons of research that went against everything he said. He referred me to a pain management clinic after speaking to me for less then 10 minutes. Even if he wanted to do surgery I would not let this uncompassionate man touch me.

This doctor say me 5 min and concluded fat caused my back pain. Forget 6 surgeries nerve damage muscle atrophy drop foot and a ct myleogram. He disagrees with the test also. If you are in great shape never had an issue. He is your manI drove 2.5 hours just to be called fat by him.

My surgery was rare and very complicated with a lot of risks involved, Dr Galgano brought in the best to assist in my surgery that gave me a lot of confidence. He is very compassionate and very easy to talk too. My surgery was a sucess and the after care I received from him and all the unc staff was amazing.

Dr. Galgano was phenomenal!!! From the 1st time I stepped into the office it was run Amazingly Orderly and friendly throughout the time I come back for my follow up visit! I cannot say enough about him! Dr Galgano is very personable, laid back, and understands and explains everything, and cares for your feelings. I was never nervous about the surgery and delt so confident in him, and that is saying something for having back surgery!! I say in hospital wording, between 1 and 10 how would you rate and say 12!! Thank you Dr. Galgano!! P.S Also have to say upstate hospital was extremely, extremely professional and friendly every time I had to go in there for anything!!
