Ultra Convenient Treatment Specialist
Full disclosure, I have been a patient of Dr. Shuler for a couple years now. On this day, I was in his office with my wife, who was there for a surgical follow-up appointment. As we were about to leave, I mentioned to Dr. Shuler that I would be coming in to see him a little over a week from now for a problem I've been having with the little finger on my right hand. He could have said 'Great, see you then', but he didn't. He said he had some time in his schedule, and would be glad to save me a trip to his office next week and go ahead and take a look at my hand while I was there if I wanted him to.What?Who does that? What doctor does that?Dr. Shuler is one of the finest hand surgeons in the country, maybe the world. But, more than that, he is one of the finest men i've ever met.His interaction with his patients, his knowledge and expertise, his sense of humor and bedside manner are all world-class, but mostly, he's just a great guy.Got hand issues?Go see Dr. Shuler @ AOC

Excellent and thorough care
Dr Shuler performed hand surgery 5 years ago. I received excellent care and my results have been exactly as he predicted. Upon developing a new issue I did not hesitate to drive over 2 hours to receive his care. As in the past my issue was thoroughly addressed and non-surgical options are being explored. I appreciate that he does not rush to surgery and takes time to thoroughly address all issues and concerns.

Arthritis in thumb bone
Very thorough in explaining condition and corrective surgery. Was not insistent on immediate surgery but suggested I wait until I was ready for surgery. Wonderful bedside manner and I would recommend him for any person needing hand surgery.

Wrist fracture
I received prompt and personal care by AOC Staff. Dr. Shuler is second to none in knowledge and attention to details. This is an ongoing issue because my tiny bones are not cooperating with mending but I am confident Dr. Shuler will take care of this issue. He has a plan and will follow it unless he sees a reason to change it.

Outstanding service
Dr. Shuler and his entire staff are absolutely awesome. Everyone is respectful of your time, friendly and professional. I've only been put under anesthesia once in my life to have wisdom teeth removed and that was 20 years ago. I was tired of dealing with pain but extremely nervous and scared of my carpal and cubital tunnel procedures. I was so tempted to walk out while sitting in the chair getting prepped for surgery but the stress and anxiety were all for nothing. Everyone was so excellent! I'm now healing and progressing well and looking forward to no pain during normal activities such as cutting grass, writing, etc! I no longer sleep with my hand and wrist splints and wake up in the mornings with no discomfort.

Excellent care
Every employee whom I came into contact with and had a verbal interaction with was so kind! They went over and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I flew into Atlanta from Tulsa, OK and drove 90 minutes to Athens. Dr Shuler offered a surgery not offered in Tulsa. A less invasive surgery with a faster recovery. Since this is my dominant hand I needed a faster recovery. He accepted the x-rays my doc in tulsa took without asking for his own. I so appreciate that small act of kindness because another doctor in Tulsa who I had a second opinion didn’t even accept them. I appreciate the time and knowledge he also so generously shared with me. So grateful!
