Dr. Mitzi Barmatz, MD

From the first visit to the last 6 months later, Dr Barmatz was always hurried, impatient with questions and uncaring. Her first male sling failed. She recommended a revision but that one also failed. Afterwards, she told me she was unable to remove the first sling bc it had stuck to the liver. It is nearly impossible to talk to her. I saw only NPs after the surgeries, even though I insisted when I made the appts. that I needed to see her. I finally had to resort to sending her a certified letter to get her to take the time to talk. I question her competency as a surgeon.

Dr Barmatz and her staff (from check in to check out) are very professional, helpful and friendly. She has been my urologist for 2 years. She listens, responds and gives choices for/of treatments. I also see an urologist and have treatments at a university in another state. Dr Barmatz is very receptive to anything that will help with my issues. I would give her 10 stars if they were available! (Any reviews w/less than optimal stars makes me sad for that person’s experience.)

I was comfortable with Dr. Barmatz from the very first time I saw her. I felt confident in her and her office staff.

Dr. Barmatz was caring and very professional. She listened and responded in a kind and caring manner. I highly recommend this exceptional doctor who is making the caring and compassionate difference. Her Assistant was also genuinely caring and responsive.

Understands Patient concerns and gives precise explanation to the problem. Takes time to give follow up to Patient and Family.

Recently saw Dr. Barmatz for examination and subsequent surgery. I have never had a doctor give such a thorough exam, she explained everything and answered all my questions before I had a chance to ask them. Her manner was warm and professional. Wish I could clone her so I could have a doctor like her for all my medical needs. Was seen in the office 3 times, all appts. were on time and staff was great. Didn't want to have surgery but glad when I did this was the doctor and practice I chose.

Dr Barmatz has been my urologist since 1996. I have always received excellent care from her. She is top drawer. Also, her staff is excellent. It is a pleasure to work with. Everyone in her office is polite, pleasant and courteous. Thank you Dr Barmatz for years of excellent care.

I had been seeing Dr. Barmatz for several years due to interstitial cystitis. She was very supportive in helping with the pain and we went through different treatments to find the right one for me. Unfortunately, due to a disruption in my healthcare benefits, I have been unable to see her. Without that issue, I would still be seeing her and I highly recommend her to anyone with this issue.

I have truly never felt so abused by a doctor. She insisted that I hadn't had UTI's, and that other doctors don't know how to diagnose this issue. Once she obtained the records proving that I did have serious UTI's, she became defensive and blamed me. I simply want to get better, and I was basically told that nothing is wrong with me. I assure you, a 22 year old woman does not experience these issues with such frequency.

Poor communications when there was a problem. Dr. Barmatz not accessible. Always on vacation or in surgery. Too quick to Recommend aggressive surgery.
