Needs better beside manner and competency level
Dr. Assaf came into the office to give me the test results with a late PM appointment. He had about 4 patients in his office at the time of the visit. He did NOT have my records with him and said that mini strokes were no big deal - all people in Memphis have them. WHAT?!His staff has not followed through with Insurance in order to get necessary tests (CT_SCAN) and IGG treatments approvals from BCBS since they did not provide the appropriate details needed.

One star is one star too many. Dr. Assaf ordered a cisternogram for my elderly mother before Christmas. We have still not received the results. After multiple calls from myself and my Physician brother, we get no response whatsoever. My mother is nearly bedridden and under Covid lock-down in an assisted living facility, and the receptionist told me she could not receive test results unless she comes in for an appointment. Clearly the only thing this "doctor" in concerned about it being able to make another charge. I plan to contact insurance company to encourage them not to pay. If her test results are positive and she is not receiving the care she should be getting, we will sue.

I have been with this practice for 9 years. Professional staff. Dr. Assaf is knowledgeable, very through and does not rush the appointment. Rembers patients history, andcoordinates well with my other physicians. He and his staff responds promptly.

Horrible Doctor. I live in Atlanta and was desperately trying to get my son into a neurologist quickly for cluster type headaches he was experiencing that would cause a great deal of pain. I was able to get him appt in Memohis with the Dr. Assaf as ones in Oxford had longer wait. It’s no wonder he had availability. My son drove 1&1/2 hrs to wait for an 1hr & 45 min for Dr. Assaf to come in and say you have migraines, not cluster headaches and need an MRI. He spoke with my son for 40 seconds. Didn’t ask about his history or symptoms, no apology for absurd wait time. Office manager tried to say the nurse had gotten his history. Horrible way to interact with a patient. I filed a complaint with Cigna and won’t pay this Dr. a dime. Most unprofessional and awful Doctor I’ve ever heard of and I’m 50yrs old with 3 young adult kids.

Dr assaf was very rude. Spoke to me like i dont know my pains. Spoke down to me and wouldn't let me speak. We argued more than anything. No bedside manner at all. He asked why ive been to so many doctors in a short time(over 20yrs isnt short). Proceeded to put words in my mouth. His type is why ive changed doctors often. I am tired of doctors not listening to me when i say i have black outs among other things. A lady at work helps me with pain meds more than doctor's.

Dr. Assaf is the one of the friendliest physicians I've ever encountered. He's patient and willing to listen and explain things when they aren't understood. He listens to feedback from patients and takes it seriously. Highly recommend.

Awesome doctor, very smart and knowledgable. Helped treat my carple tunnel symptoms and recommend best non invasive therapy choices. I am not from Memphis but drove a few hours to see him given his reputation in Northern Mississippi region.

Dr. Assaf was my MD for 10 years. The care I receive has decline considerably. The staff stop asking if I wanted interns present at my visits. As a nurse for 15 years, there is no excuse for his behavior, my last visit. I had a concern, 2 interns present,my lab was low, he states,I am not taking my medication. He leaves the room with his interns in tow. I went over my lab results with his nurse and we determined why my level had dropped. I need a doctor, not arrogance, not a intern instructor.
