All the Qualities of an Exceptional Doctor
I write this review to describe my experience with the physician behind the practice, Mohammed Shakfeh, M.D. I met Dr. Shakfeh while accompanying my dear friend and confidant through a very difficult time in her life. I was in the exam room during her many visits with him, and in the hospital during procedures. In my decades of interacting with myriads of physicians and medical practitioners for myself, aging parents, family members and friends, I can say with certainty that Dr. Shakfeh is a 'stand-out' and a true asset to the field of gastroenterology and medicine in general. Not only does he possess the experience, expertise and skill of a top-tier physician, he has a God-given compassion and a sincere care for his patients that I have not seen in all my years. I have since become a patient for my own routine GI screenings...Aside from that, always remember that, 'An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!' So, stop procrastinating and go get that colonoscopy!!!

Colonoscopy easy with minimal meds
I requested my colonoscopy to be performed without general anesthetic or sedative so I could drive myself. No better way to evaluate how careful and gentle the Dr. was. Dr. Shakfeh was both. Office staff was friendly and professional. However much of a thumbs up can be given for this procedure, Dr. Shakfeh deserves it.

Colonoscopy prep and procedure
I was so nervous and did not get much sleep the night before my procedure. While the prep was uncomfortable it was not as bad as I thought it would be. I had fear of the procedure worried it would be painful but it really wasn’t! I lost a good night sleep for nothing. Dr made me so comfortable as he walked me through it. I got to see everything on the monitor. He even had a few jokes which kept me distracted and my mind off of my fear. He was patient kind and kept me well informed through the entire procedure. The nurses were great as well.

I just completed my first colonoscopy. What I liked about Dr. Shakfeh and his staff was the ease withmaking an appointment. It was done over the phone and all the necessary paperwork was sent electronically. The procedure was quick and painless and Dr. Shakfeh has a cool personality and is funny. I really liked the staff at True Care Surgery Center as well, however I'm not sure they work for Dr. Shakfeh or if they're the in house staff for the Surgery Center. Either way, I highly recommend this physician and would happily refer him.

Wonderful experience
Dr Shakfeh is pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. He was thorough in his consultation and my procedure went very well. The whole intake and discharge process was smooth. Afterwards, he discussed the findings with me in detail and recommended my treatment plan. His staff are wonderful and on the top of it in terms of communication and scheduling. I have already recommended him to my family members.

Professional and a great bedside manner.
This is my second procedure with Dr. Shakfeh (colonoscopy) and I liked him so much the first time there was no one else to consider when it came time again. He’s very comforting and makes you feel like you are his top priority. Caring, professional, pleasant, open and forthright, he makes you feel connected to the process while not making you uncomfortable. I’m sure most men dread this procedure but it’s necessary and the doctor takes all the embarrassment away while always being easy to talk to. I’d recommend Dr. Shakfeh to anyone needing this procedure.

Wonderful Doctor
I have been dealing with an issue for years that no one has been able to help with. I was referred to Dr Shakfeh and he was so knowledgeable and kind. He spent as much as I needed to explain my entire situation…he’s a great listener. And he took the time to make sure I understood everything he explained, I never felt felt rushed or like just another number to him. He also covered all bases…giving a few possible options and explaining the ins and outs of each and next steps, even to just rule out things to give me peace of mind. He also encouraged me to do some research on his expected diagnosis, pointing me in the right direction, and offered natural options to help with symptoms. It was so appreciated and made me feel armed with something I could do while waiting tests and labs. I left feeling very hopeful and confident that we would finally get to the bottom of my issue. His diagnosis was correct and he’s helping me work through it. Highly recommend him.

Wonderfully accommodating & I got to stay awake!
DON'T DELAY! I was scheduled for the dreadful colonoscopy. Dr. Shakfeh is a wonderful doctor and knows how to be on his patient's side. Years ago, I had a bad experience with anesthesia so I wanted to stay awake. He encouraged me to go ahead and try the procedure while awake and if need be, the anesthesiologist can step in and give me twilight sleep that many prefer. BOOM! It went as I had hoped! Yes, there were about three times that I felt some heavy cramping, but he reminded me to continue to take deep breaths. He talked me through the whole procedure as I watched and even showed me my appendix. For me, the momentary cramping was way better than going to sleep! He removed two polyps in which I felt nothing. If you prefer sleep, do so. If you would like to stay awake, I highly recommend. He might even play a cute joke on you during the procedure if you stay awake! I can't tell you the joke though because that would spoil it, huh? LOL Your butt is covered so no need to feel embarassed

Professionalism
On September 29, Dr Mohammad J. Shakfeh MD and a team from this True Care Surgery Center of Chino Hills, California, performed a colonoscopy authorized by my health insurance. The procedure was carried out without any inconvenience and with total respect for my person and with due consideration. The professionalism of said doctor and the team that assisted him was excellent. At the end of it, Dr. Shakfeh himself met with my daughter and I in the lobby of that institution and gave us a brief information of the results observed up to that point. Said observations were put in writing by Dr Shakfeh himself, which demonstrates the knowledge of the anguish a patient has in those circumstances. I want to record the high level of respect, understanding of the moment I am going through in my delicate state of health, and the human and professional quality on the part of all the participants. Dr Mohammad J, Shakfeh and True Care Surgery Center Ambulatory on Chino Hills, California have my apprec

Colonoscopy
2nd Colonoscopy from Dr. Shakfeh. He offers it without sedation, which is highly preferable to me. I get to watch my colon along the doctor and see how removes polyps. It's better than any TV show. The procedure is only a little painful when air accumulates, but that usually passes quickly. He has me breathe deep. Once I got used to it, I was able to pass the air pretty quickly. My father was a surgeon and did abdominal surgeries back in the 60s. I'm sure he would give Dr. Shakfeh high ratings.

I came into the Rancho office to see Mohammad Shakfeh after having severe stomach pains and issues for over 7 months. It was to the point where I was in and out of urgent care/ hospitals due to extreme stomach pains after ingesting anything (food, beverages, etc.). I am already pretty under weight and had lost over 15 pounds. I was in dire need of help and after taking many different medications for my stomach (including probiotics for months) and seeing no improvement, was directed to a GI specialist. Dr. Shakfeh was anything but helpful. I waited for months for an appointment with a specialist and to get the help that I need but Dr. Shakfeh was very dismissive and uninterested in helping me. When I told him that I was in extreme pain and had lost over 15 pounds, he said "Well, you know, a lot of people want to lose weight, so consider yourself lucky". He barely asked me any questions before pushing me out the door and didn't set me up with any tests whatsoever to figure out the root of my problem. I asked him if he was going to set up any tests like maybe a colonoscopy or an ultrasound and he said "No! Why? just take probiotics, you'll be fine". Despite the fact that i had been taking probiotics for months and had been on probably 5 different medications for my stomach. I was in tears and told him I needed help and he just said "set up a follow up 7 weeks from now". He was extremely unprofessional and uninterested in helping me. However, after reading other reviews I am OVERWHELMINGLY glad that I did not get any procedure of any kind done by this man. Apparently he has a history of abuse and neglect to his patients. I am glad that i am no longer one of them. I have since found a new GI specialist who was very helpful (she gave me a physical exam within the first meeting) and set up multiple tests to help me and figure out what is really going on. The only redeeming quality of this office was the receptionist. She was kind and helpful and was very honest with me. When I was pushed out of the very short and disappointing appointment with Dr. Shakfeh, I told the receptionist I probably wouldn't be back because he didn't do anything to help me and is making me wait months for any kind of "specialist" treatment or advice. She was honest and told me that he was going on vacation and that is probably why any testing would be postponed. Bottom line, DO NOT go to this doctor. Go to a real professional who has your best interest at heart.

Painful Procedure
Didn't get enough sedation for colonoscopy. I was told to relax but I could feel everything. Got the strength to scream so they would stop. The staff didn't seem to be bothered by it. Just got a new referral to this dr 4 years later. Heck NO!!!
