I went to see him due to dizziness, and concern over recent memory problems. I had the impression he really did not have time me. He spent the first few minutes reviewing my medications and asking me why I was taking them. He said the dizziness problem would have to be solved by the Strong Balance Lab. He then picked up my coat and handed it to me; apparently he felt we were finished. When I then asked him about the memory problems, instead of giving me cognitive tests, he simply answered 'I can tell from talking to you and your answers to my questions that you are not suffering from dementia.' And that was it! No suggestions, no recommendations, no follow-up appointments made, just 'good bye'. The entire appointment took less than 10 minutes. I had a long drive to get there; it was a waste of time.

Stay away
Honestly I'd steer clear if you're thinking of seeing Dr.Khishchenko. Save your time, money and hopes. He was rude from the second I sat down with him. It was also clear he never even peeked at my chart referral prior to sitting across from me. For a new patient appointment it lasted maybe 10 minutes, that includes him reviewing my current medications, my history and deciding to drastically change medications. I was never allowed to complete an entire sentence and everything i started to say was dismissed by him with an i dont care or it doesn't matter. He only asked when they started and if they were related to my menstrual cycle. Never asked how often, where they were located, if I had auras, etc. He decided from those 2 questions he asked to take away the only 2 medications that somewhat help and change the medication I'm on for chronic appendicitis to 6 pills daily from 2 pills daily. When i expressed concerns, he told me it was ok and i could look it up in this medical textbook.

I was referred to Dr. Natan Khishchenko by my primary physician for evaluation of a balance issue. Dr. Khishchenko immediately set me at ease and asked questions to clarify my condition. Based on that and what I felt was a very through exam, he recommended I obtain an MRI. Dr. Khishchenko reviewed the MRI results with me and recommended I obtain a consult for possible surgery. I found Dr. Khishchenko to be a very caring, knowledgeable, and professional individual. If you need an exceptional neurologist, I highly recommend Dr. Khishchenko!

Dismissive and arrogant
This man did not ask a single question about the condition I was experiencing. Not, “what brings you in?” Or “where does it hurt?” He just made assumptions about the cause of my symptoms and refused to consider anything beyond his working theory. He rushed me, talked over me and shut down my husband’s reasonable questions. He seemed more interested in prescribing medications than treating or discovering the root cause. He also asked me to “slip off my shoes” in a relatively creepy way. It’s an extremely hard pass on this doc for me.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I was so hopeful to get help for my debilitating migraines. Instead of help I got talked down to, talked over, and had all of my concerns disregarded by this man. I wasn't even able to complete a sentence without him interrupting. He was the most arrogant Dr I've ever been to. He downplayed my pain and said a few migraines a week isn't that big of a deal. I left so disheartened. I don't know how anyone could stand going to someone who has such lack of compassion for patients.

Reality
I will start, everyone has a right to their own opinion. I have been one of his patients for 15+ years. I have a ton of respect for him and his ability to treat my rare condition. He is upfront, honest, caring, and knowledgeable. I have zero negative things to say about him. He gave me a metaphor to keep in mind about my condition and repeating this helps me through the tough times.

Dr. Khishchenko spent almost the entirety of all my visits talking about his personal life and not for the purpose of making friendly conversation. He is very condescending and basically told me the issues I was referred for weren't as serious as I was making them out to be. He put in my chart that I have psychosomatic disorder, even though he prescribed me a medications for my symptoms.

I found Dr. Khishchenko to be knowledgeable and perceptive. I also learned from my very first visit, when he cancelled a procedure, that he doesn't perform tests that are unwarranted or excessive; this is rare! His careful examinations and evaluations each year have kept me from having spinal surgery unnecessarily or prematurely. And when some new symptoms arose just recently, he was thorough enough to check for and discover a lurking vitamin B12 deficiency. I find this doctor truly fun to interact with. He is lively, smart, warm and blunt; he talks fast and thinks fast. He makes me smile (but then, I grew up in the NYC area). But really, my opinion does not matter. The widely-respected neurosurgeon who referred me to Dr. Khishchenko said that he was sending me to him because "he is so darn smart." Isn't that the bottom line?

Horrible experience: This "doctor" is the worst healthcare "professional" we have ever experienced. He is rude, lacks compassion, and is arrogant beyond words. He was very rough with my elderly mother, caused her much pain without apologizing, and treated her with tremendous disrespect.

He was horrible to go see, i went to see him for paralyzingly painful spasms in my head that would last a few seconds and he dismissed everything i said to him, told me i wasn't feeling what i was describing and then he gave me a sample of nasal spray for my "headaches". i went to a REAL neurologist who gave me an MRI and found out i need to see a NEUROSURGEON. I have never been talked down to like this doctor. DO NOT SEE HIM.

He took a personal call from his wife during my appointment. His feedback on m y MRI was contradictory. I will be getting a second opinion. My daughter and sister are also not impressed. My daughter went to an appointment with me. Dr. Khishchendo told my GP things that were not included at the appt with my daughter.
