I had a foot tendon rupture from a screw from a previous surgery. Dr. Brissey gave me a number of options but ultimately reconnected my tendon to itself (after well over a year of it being broken), and it is amazing! Everything works as it should. His level of concern and care was perfect, and he listened to me when I had questions and concerns. He even showed me surgery videos of my foot surgery during which he was talking to me as if I were awake. Very cool! 10 out of 10. Highly recommend!

Great First Impression
Dr. Brissey got me as a patient from another Dr. who had just left for another opportunity.. I was nervous about this because he hadn't been with me since the start of my injury, but he came in very confident. Not only that, but he took issues that I felt were previously ignored seriously and got me in for an MRI immediately due to his assumptions of what else could be going on besides my break. I felt very heard, and he explained things in a way that I was very able to understand. I'm eager for my MRI and to get this healing process going with the help of Dr. Brissey and his wonderful staff. Can wait times be a little longer sometimes? Sure. It's a large facility with a large patient base. I'll wait as long as I need to for a place that genuinely cares about helping you. I've been going for a few months now, and trust these individuals with my care. These negative reviews are so far fetched and wrong, in my personal experienced opinion, just nagging. Do not let them steer you away!

Fantastic
Absolutely fantastic. Not sure what the person below is talking about. Dr. Brissey explained to me what was the cause of my pain. He ordered a MRI which I was grateful for I had already tried all kinds of things on my own after looking online. When I return from my MRI result, Dr. Brissey was able to give me both surgery and additional things I could do that were not surgery. Also I did some research Dr. Brissey is board qualified, but better than that HE IS BOARD-CERTIFIED. I have surgery scheduled and looking forward to some pain relief. Thank you, Dr. Brissey.

Beware!
Waited for over an hour to be seen just to be told I needed an MRI for him to figure out what was wrong. He is only looking for surgery and has little interest in helping patients conservatively. I know several workers at MCO who recommend staying clear from Dr Brissey as he is not even board qualified! Wish I knew this before scheduling in the first place!

Amazing
I saw Dr Brissey for a foot fracture. I recently moved to Bloomington and did not know who to see. I was so happy with my appointment and how much information I was given. Dr. Brissey was very informative and listened to my concerns.

When it comes to podiatry and orthopedic surgery Dr Brissey is a first rate experienced doctor and surgeon. He spent as much time as was needed with me and went to great lengths in explaining my particular medical situation, the treatment options and the rationale for his choice of treatment. He answered all my questions and concerns at length. In addition he has a friendly and engaging personality. Highly recommended

OMG
I waited 45 minutes in the waiting room and another 20 minutes in the exam room before the doctor even saw me. Once in the room he apologized for being late but still very frustrated. It was almost 7pm when I left and the appointment was at 4:30. The doctor is great but I'm sure he could use a hand with the overflow of patients.

Ankle Surgery
Dr. Brissey is fantastic. He took the time to diagnose, treat and ultimately perform ankle surgery. Years of sports and repeated injuries to the ankle, required ligament reattachment, bone removal and removal of numerous, painful, impingements. Dr. Brissey is extremely thorough, communicative and compassionate.

Dr Brissy is very professional and helpful. Unfortunately when I first checked in for my visit today I was not informed that his schedule was backed up for at least 40 minutes. My suggestion going forward would be to inform patients when they check in that there will be a long wait so that the patient has the option to wait or reschedule. I’ve been coming to OrthoIllinois for many years and feel that they have excellent doctors and therapists. Everyone is very friendly.
