Dr Agarwal is one of the best informed docs I have ever experienced. His listening skills are superb and he takes the time to explain medical info and in a way that is clear and understandable. He knows about nutrition, physical therapy, massage benefits and has great and practical suggestions that are doable. I am so happy to have had this time with him and I highly recommend him to anyone suffering with GI issues. He sees me as a whole person and has great ideas as to how to heal myself. I am so grateful. Thankyou so much, Dr Agarwal.

He diagnosed me while looking at a different patient's chart. I was so confused because what he was telling me did not align with my symptoms. When we realized that he was looking at the wrong chart he got mine yet still stood by his original diagnosis even though it contradicted the test I already had. When I pointed this out, he got angry with me and said that the appointment was over. And to think I ended up paying just under $1000 for this debacle.

Attentive, kind, engaged listener and communicator. Impressive knowledge and skill! Fortunate in referral to him following thorough but unproductive gastric MD testing. Had obviously read all the referral MD,s history; reviewed it w/ me, then skillfully administered shot In stomach nerve confirming diagnosis of entrapped abdominal wall nerve. [ACNES]. 3 months of disabling pain resolving w/in one week! Immediately able to face & retain food -- ( after 3-month 30# loss!) So GRATEFUL !!

Terrible! I was referred by my PCP. No one told me ahead of time that he wasn't in my network, so I later got a $500 bill for a 10-minute appointment that didn't help me at all.

I am doing an update on my former review of Dr. Nikil Agarwal. He read the review and took the steps to explain why he was unable to answer emails as quickly as expected. But that said he has since been answering in a very timely manner and has been very good at explaining everything. So good in fact, that I have shared his explanation with others that share the same chronic illness I have and why it affects our ability to heal from other conditions.

Darn, I wish I had read this website first. Dr. Argawal is fine, no complaints with him personally, it's that no one explains their billing to you ahead of time. I was referred here and specifically called in advance to make sure that he was on our plan (PPO) and was told that he was. I had a 30 minute discussion with the doctor. For this, I was billed $525 by the doctor and $268 by CPMC for a total of $793. To make it worse, it turns out that the $525 is actually out of network, so it's worse.

I was referred to Dr. Agarwal for complex stomach issues that I have been dealing with for years. My gastroenterologist in La thought he could help me so I made the trip to see him. It was well worth it- Dr Agarwal is thorough and smart and he has really helped to get to the bottom of my symptoms. I am finally starting to feel better and I couldnt be happier that I met him.

This office bills as hospital and they do not warn you about this. I went in to this normal looking doctor's office for a 5 minute consult - no care/treatment was given, no prescriptions were written - and was billed for outpatient hospital services which can be very expensive. Be forewarned and only see this doctor if it is your only option! See any other GI specialist instead.

Kept wanting to push a prescription on me that I had previously tried for something different. Then I tried following up and he wasn't even available for another week and a half. I kept telling the NP who was trying to help me, felt like she was more helpful than he was, over the emails back and forth what worked and what didn't. Unfortunately, I understand they need to take steps and try certain meds. bottom line, if you're required to go see him save yourself a trip if he's too far away
