My mom had polio when she was 15-18. As she grew it affected her spine and became so bad that she was bent over at a 35 degree angle. We searched the globe for a Dr. to perform spinal reconstructive surgery, but because of her age, NO doctor would touch her. That is until we met Dr. Boachie. He performed the most amazing spinal reconstruction surgery, going in from the front and back to rebuild her spine. My mom wore a back brace for nearly two years after but was able to finally stand up straight again. We are from Texas and moved to New York so that my mom could have surgery at the HSS. My grandson was diagnosed with hemi vertebrae in utero .The prospective outlook was very threatening. After Eddie was born, he required surgery by age 4. Thank God we found the best possible surgeon in the country. He not only successfully operated on little Eddie but made a frightened 4 year old feel comfortable. Eddie is now 17 and in great health.
