Do NOT go to this unprofessional and unethical doctor under any circumstances! I had a follow up appointment with Dr. Horvit last month, but unfortunately I started having a reaction to some medication late that morning. I called my PCP’s office for advice, and her office staff instructed me to go straight to the ER. I called Dr. Horvit’s office to try to reschedule my appointment and was told that a no-show fee of $50 would be assessed despite the fact that I needed to reschedule due to a medical emergency. Dr. Horvit herself evidently made the decision to assess this fee even though she was aware of the emergency situation, and sure enough, I was recently billed. I feel these actions are highly unethical and unfair, especially in light of the fact that I am in the process of applying for SSDI, and money is extremely tight for me (I explained this to her office staff, too!). This lack of empathy, understanding, and compassion from a Med professional is disturbing, IMO.

Friendly staff and also, Dr. Horvit was very kind! She spoke with me about my health and not down to me as another provider did before I saw Dr Horvit.

I find it odd that she has never encouraged patients with chronic illness to get the Covid-19 vaccine. It’s a well known fact that people with chronic illness are at higher risk of complications. She has never even inquired if I received the vaccine. Reviews lab work and takes my money. If I owe 25 cents she wants it paid before the next visit.

I have just now seen Dr. Horvit's reviews on this site and I must say that I am horrified and in great disbelief. I have been a patient of hers for a number of years and never felt anything but respect for Dr. Horvit and the quality of care that I have received! I have found her to be methodical and through. I'm a grumpy old guy and would not accept less. My thought is that you go to a Dr. because you have a problem or are having treatment for one. Give the Doctor a chance to help you. After all, they are the professional in your relationship. As far as long wait times, get over it! Maybe you haven't noticed but the "Baby Boomers"are aging rapidly and adding to that issue everywhere. Don't worry though, as we die off the "problem" should heal itself for a while. Oh, I hope that you are not one of us! Meanwhile, see if you can find some of that compassion that you are looking to receive. Merry Christmas! J.E.S. 12/21/2020

She wouldn't look any of my lab results I brought in with me because she didn't order them through her preferred place. She glanced at my paperwork and told me to stop taking everything I was on and come back in a month (if she would have listened to me and/or looked at my labs, she would have seen that some of the supplements I was on were critical -- for example I have low vitamin B and should NOT stop taking that). When I asked what she would do if I had certain lab result she told me that she would put me on a prescription medication long term. When I asked if she had any ideas about how to look into finding the root cause in order to treat that she said no and that I'd basically be on medication for the rest of my life. When I asked how something worked she said "I'm not explaining the biology to you." I understand doctors can be rushed and don't have time to get into the details with every patient, but I want to understand what's going on with my body and if she is going to refer

I would never recommend Dr Horvit. The office staff consists of two people. The reviews about the receptionist are harsh. This woman is very nice and pleasant but is extremely overworked. She answers the phone, checks in patients, verifies insurance, accepts payment, orders supplies, files charts , faxes, straightened the waiting room, and much more. She does the work of about three people. Dr Horvit micromanages everyone....staff and patients. She is rude and has no bedside manner. The negative reviews are accurate. Positive reviews are a result of asking patients to give good reviews. That’s not how it works. Negative reviews should be taken seriously and an effort made to correct the issues. Dr Horvit continues to be rude and is not an advocate for her patients. She lacks empathy and compassion. Definitely would not recommend.

Dr. Horvit was my fifth Endocrinologist in my search for relief from my symptoms. She listened and understood that I was having issues with my thyroid. The other doctors just did not care since my "numbers" did not warrant action. Dr. Horvit felt that since I was close, I should get some synthroid. It was a life changer. I feel so much better now. She saved me from what I thought was insanity based on what the other doctors said. Since then, the range has actually been lowered. Thanks Dr. H.

Difficult to work with, critical, negative outlook. Not open to discuss options for medications/dosages, refuses to do employer paperwork in the case of multi endocrine failure patient, Harps on Boniva, Fosamax, etc and said if you break your hip you will die. Thanks doc! Those drugs have serious side effects and produce more brittle, apt to fracture bones but she says bones don't cause pain - I beg to differ! Staff aloof, bothered by phone calls and questions...Just have to look elsewhere...

One of the worst receptionists ever. It looks like, per the other poor reviews, that this person emulated the doctor's demeanor. Rude and condescending.

Dr Horvit has always been kind and helpful to me - I even get samples when needed . She takes my blood pressure herself and weight check. She knows what foods are contraindicated for my medication. I have been her patient for 15 years.

She is cold never ask how I am feeling only goes by blood test numbers. Ordered a BD test for me then day after I did it said she didn't order it and I will have to pay because it wasn't time yet for my insurance to pay. She accused me of lieing and ordering my own test! She said she threw away her copy of my orders which had 2 other tests I was supposed to do. She conveniently threw them away the day she called me to say she didn't order the BD test. Never going back !

After my first appointment, my insurance dropped one of my medications. Trying to get Dr Horvit to prescribe and/or adjust my medication was a horrible experience. During the process three phone calls were ignored and only 7 days following the first request did I get any attention. In the end Dr Horwit told me to do my best until my next appt. BAD.
