Dr. Peter Fernandez, MD

I am a 63 year-old woman. I suffered 2 compression fractures 4 weeks ago. I was in a lot of pain, so I decided to see a pain specialist. My first impression of him was he was very nice and knowledgeable. He looked at my MRIs and was surprised at how bad my situation was. He prescribed some medicine for my back pain. That was on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. I made an appointment for the following week to get an MRI done again, and then to be seen by his assistant. I left the office feeling confident that I found a good doctor that I could trust. Well, was I mistaken! On Sunday morning, I woke up with excruciating pain in my back. I called the office no call back for 4 hours. So I called back because I wanted to go to the ER and I wanted to know what hospital he was affiliated with. He finally called back & yelled at me because I called his answering service on a Sunday. He had me in tears. Never have I been treated so badly by this so called 'doctor'.

Dr. Fernandez is awesome as is his PA Drew & the entire staff!Very professional, friendly, courteous & organized.Thanks to Dr. Fernandez I am almost pain free. I have severe osteoarthritis & the epidurals have helped me tremendously. I have been to two different doctors in another city who were not as effective as Dr. Fernandez. He actually improved my quality of life so I am very active again. Praise the Lord for Dr. Fernandez & Drew!

Highly skilled, erudite, honest, no BS, no pushing of unnecessary procedures. Answers all questions thoroughly. Goes the extra mile for everybody. Upbeat and pleasant, optimistic and kind. Sitting in the waiting room, one hears every patient, who is so grateful, saying “Thank You” over and over. Staff is friendly, and much laughter is heard in the front office. I’m a physician; I had read all the pros and cons of the procedures and elected to do it. So glad I did. This guy is one in a million. I was referred by my orthopedist. After the first visit with Dr. Fernandez, I thanked the orthopedist for an excellent referral. He said, “Yeah, it’s really hard to find a good pain guy. My only worry is that he’s going to get so busy that I won’t be able to refer patients any more.” Summary: this guy is simply best of the best.

Amazing treatment and significant ongoing pain management for spinal stenosis and extensive arthritic deterioration in my spine. I am so grateful to Dr. Fernandez and his team.

The entire staff from the surgery assistant to check-in window are absolutely amazing, friendly, and kind. Dr Fernandez makes you feel like you are very important to him and that he’s treating you just like he was one of his family.

Dr. Fernandez has been my Pain Management Doctor for about 10 years. He is the best Doctor I have ever had in my 19 years of Chronic Pain. His staff couldn’t be any nicer too. I had several Doctors leading up to my first visit with Dr. Fernandez and he is without a doubt the best.

Dr. Fernandez has an incredible knowledge base and is very kind and compassionate. He never rushes through appointments and takes his time. I feel he is giving me the care he would want for his own family members. His staff are all friendly and welcoming. I would give him 10 stars if possible!

Dr. Fernandez has been treating me for lower back and shoulders pain. He is an incredibly talented and caring doctor. Relates to you like a regular person. Not above you. I highly recommend him. The best of the best.

I had been seeing Dr. Fernandez 5-8 years ago . He took the time to listen to my concerns and he never made me feel like he was pushing me out the door. I was extremely sorry that he left the practice in Sarasota, but I get why. When the medication no longer worked, we decided that an ablation was the next course of action which was a genuine life changing thing for me. He did tell me that over time, the nerves would grow back and I am now trying to get an appt with him for the same ablation that worked so well. He is one of only three doctors I would recommend.

He is one of the few doctors that took my mom's pain seriously. Nothing but respect for him.

I have been suffering with chronic low back pain for many years. Dr Fernandez has been treating me for 2+years and I have had some relief. We have worked out solutions for some of my problems and medication issues. We are working on a plan that should greatly reduce my pain. Obviously he's my best bud!!
