Going through the motion, did not seem to care
I was disappointed with the lack of engagement and guidance provided. Throughout the appointment, it felt as if she did not ask any relevant questions or steer the conversation in any meaningful direction. There were no suggestions offered on how to address my concerns or deal with the issues I was experiencing. It seemed to be a matter of stating my problem and being told to handle it myself. This lack of active participation left me feeling unheard and uncared for during the entire process. As a patient, I expected a certain level of attentiveness and compassion, which regrettably was absent in this case.

She was very clear about what was happening and would be happening to my body during the procedure. But that’s the only good thing I can say. Both she and the person who checked me in made flippant assumptions about a part of my health without much conversation or curiosity. Not a lot of compassion and seemed like she was not very sensitive to my concerns. Also, she was not proactive (a basic thing I asked about she was like “oh yeah, I’d recommend that”) so I feel like I have to get a new GYN who will lean in more because I can’t possibly think of the things a doctor could/should myself to bring them up. She really seemed to be going through the motions in a ‘been there done that’ way. My particular issue was new to me, so that was upsetting energy to receive. I was in tears after I left and I’m a pretty tough person.
