In November of 2020, after passing out on the bathroom floor and being extremely short of breath, I had a telehealth visit with Dr. Owen Thayer. She proceed to tell me with little questioning of how I felt that I was just anxious due to the fact it was the first time I felt under the weather away from home. As well she informed me that going to urgent care would not be necessary in the slightest. My condition got worse and worse as time went on and a week later, after barely being able to get out of bed because I was unable to breathe, I ended up in the emergency room. There they performed multiple tests before telling me that I had 100’s of blood clots in my lungs and that if I had waited any longer to go to the ER, I would likely not have survived. If Dr Owen Thayer had the courtesy to see me in person (upon my initial request) and listen to my lungs and heart, perhaps she would have caught it before I spent over two weeks in the ICU. Her lack of compassion nearly cost me my life.

I have been going to Dr. Owen-Thayer for many years. She is a very thorough physician. She is very factual and up front but also takes the time to listen. She always is aware of what you test results show and is ready to help you make decisions to get healthier. She is a bit dry with her patients so if you are looking for hand-holding, she probably isn't for you. She is more of a "cut to the chase and get it done" style with her health diagnosis and recommendations.
