Surgery was a failure. Little finger on right hand was bent over with Dupuytrens Contracture. Four months after surgery, finger is still bent over severely. Plus a roughly scarred hand with numb spots and occasional pain, a lot of wasted time, arm in a cast for three weeks, hand pretty useless for about two months. Not to mention several hundred dollars out of my pocket for copays. Dr. Draeger is a poor communicator, he never told me what to expect in results, and admittedly, I didn't ask. However, I was expecting a straight finger. Who wouldn't?

Dr. Draeger was ok, but dealing with his staff was a nightmare. I spent a month trying to get an order for a follow-up-ray before giving up & using one from another physician. I had it sent to Dr. Draeger, & then it took many phone calls & emails & another month to have it read. I now need an order for a cortisone injection & am going through the same problem trying to get it from his staff. Looks like I am going to have to request a referral to another orthopedic surgeon. I am sorry I cannot recommend Dr. Draeger because of his negligent staff.

My 78 year old mother was treated by Dr.Draeger in Feb. of 2018 for a complex and complicated elbow issue. She had been told by several specialist before him (one of whom works for the #1 nationally ranked hospital in NC), that she would have to "learn to live with"her painful and debilitating elbow issue. I attended most of her appointments with Dr.Draeger and must say that he and his staff were exceptional! His nurse Tanya was attentive and caring. My mother is now pain free and living life.

Dr. Draeger was incredibly thorough with his exam and explanation of my problem. We tried non-surgical treatment first, but when that didn't fully relieve my symptoms, he offered surgery. I am very happy with the results so far - no more pain!
