Didn't diagnose my problem
Although the exam seemed thorough the change in my astigmatism that was causing my symptoms was totally missed or dismissed, it was never brought up to me. I was told my condition couldn't be corrected with glasses. I was recommended to a specialist that I waited 6 weeks to see who found the change in my astigmatism, wrote a new prescription for glasses and let me try out a sample, it was perfect. Tragedy is that I continued to suffer my symptoms for weeks and worried I had some neurological changes. I experienced unusual fatigue from constant compensation for double vision and it impacted my work. Patients have a difficult time knowing if the care they get is medically sound so I felt I needed to share this. The staff was very nice but again I don't know how this was missed, it is documented in my chart, I've had it for decades, it should have been looked at.

Dr Friedman is the most arogant, obnoxious, condescending , ego-maniacal person I have ever come in contact with.I was with a hospital nurse for 23 years and have known many dr's. Dr Friedman is the worse.I fel sorry for anyone he examines. He should be asked to leave Total Eye Care or dismised immediately.I cancelled my cataract surgery because of Dr Friedman. Bernard Burtnick bburtnick36@gmail.com. Thank You for listening.

I have great respect for dr Friedman. He diagnosed a serious eye problem for which I had seen two other ophthalmologists. He also did a great job with my cataract surgery. But he isn’t a good listener at an eye exam.

I am in the process of looking for a new ophthalmologist for exactly the same reasons many of you have mentioned. I visited Total Eye Care in Sykesville and the optometrist was unprofessional and rude. She literally yelled at me for not coming to see HER for over 2 years when I had been in within 12 months to see her colleague. I was having an eye issue and needed a follow up. After the experience in Sykesville I thought maybe the Westminster office might be better.... NO SUCH LUCK. I saw Dr. Friedman and he literally YELLED at me for coming into the office. I told him I was instructed to come in for a follow up. That did not matter to him at all. He was belittling and abusive. I have NEVER been treated so badly by another person in my entire life.

I was very disappointed with my appointment with Dr. Friedman. The tech who met with me before the doctor was wonderful but the doctor was very dismissive, arrogant and bordering on rude. He dismissed every question I had and seemed annoyed that I had questions - which he didn’t answer. He didn’t even shake my hand or thank me for my business or even said goodbye. The optical eyeglass store had to explain to me that I was written for bifocals for the first time. Worse appointment I’ve had.

If you want a no-nonsense professional go to Dr. Friedman at The Center for Total Eye Care. Appointment scheduling is easy and the staff gets you in an out without a lot of waiting around. Dr. Friedman was quick with the examination procedures and I appreciated his straight forward responses to my questions.

Dr. Friedman needs to get his "Dr. God Syndrome" in check. After waiting an hour to see my Mother, he comes in just to tell us how busy he is and that he's going on vacation. What a total unprofessional doctor he is. It would have been nice to hear "sorry about the long wait", but no he jumped right into "I'm very busy"?? Wow, I would not recommend this eye doctor to anyone. Eye doctors are like dentists, there are PLENTY to choose from.

Dr. Friedman is dismissive. His listening skills are very poor. He appears to be anxious to complete the appointment so he can do more important things.

My advice when going to Center for Total Eye Care is ....... don't! The staff, the first to acquaint you with the office, were nonchalant, blase, and possibly rude! I kept hoping the doctor would be different....but he was exactly the same as them. Arrogant, bordering on rude. Won't go back for my follow-up appointment; but will gladly search for another ophthalmologist on my insurance plan!
