condescending, very poor "bedside manner"
Dr. Lupo was condescending and did not listen to what I was saying during my last visit. The visit notes don't reflect what actually happened during the visit. He barely looked at me, pressed on my knee and seemed angry that my pain reaction was more than he thought it should be and his notes say he couldn't see the swelling in my knee because it is obese. Maybe he should have compared it to the other knee! His PA and nurse were very nice, but he was not at all. His office was also supposed to get approval for an injection, but that was never submitted to insurance; however, after the way he acted during the office visit, I don't want him touching me again. I won't go back there. I have 3 strikes against me - my age, the fact that I am female and lastly, being overweight. I was treated like I had no brains at all.

shoulder surgery
Had a very torn up shoulder, I researched surgeons and settled on Dr. Lupo. This proved to be one of the best decisions I could have made. With all the damage he had to repair i had a great recovery with minimal pain. If you are looking for a truly talented surgeon Dr. Lupo is your man.

I would not recommend this person. He has a vacant stare, an unchanging expression and zero empathy for pain, work situation which injury inhibits, patient concerns,; doesn't listen to or doesn't respond to what the patient verbalizes. Very coldly clinical. Refuses to allow patients to see another provider within the practice when he is not available to follow up within a reasonable time frame, give test results and so on. They say he is the one the patient gets if the patient has been referred there from an ER visit at St. Vincent's- but if I had known these things about him, I wouldn't have accepted an appt. with him but asked for someone else or looked elsewhere completely. Creates a lack of confidence in his abilities as an extension of his demeanor and lack of overall care for the well-being of the patient.

Still in severe pain 3 years post op from TKR. I think a serious mistake was made during my surgery. I was never taken seriously when I reported my pain. I did all my physical therapy; returned for follow up visits. I am a throw-away ...my lifestyle is ruined.

Dr. Lupo performed a total left hip replacement for me. I couldn't give him and his staff a higher recommendation. From my first appointment through my post-op visit, Dr. Lupo and his staff were wonderful. All of my questions were answered and the procedure was explained thoroughly. The surgery was wonderful. I was home the next day and walking without a cane within a week. The pain relief was remarkable. He used robotics in the surgery and a less invasive approach. I would highly recommend him!

I met Dr Lupo, as my 95 yr old father needed to see him about a possible cracked patella. Long story short, two CT scans were being compaired and at first, they were saying his patella had been cracked, but when we went to an appointment.. we found it was just an old break, misread. If it had been broken, my father would have been off his feet and may have never walked again, but do to Dr Lupo's expert background, my father moves onto physical therapy. We feel extremely Blessed to have been able to have Dr Lupo read the scans.

From the moment that I walked into the office, everyone so friendly and did their jobs. Dr Lupo spent time explained the procedures to be done. I felt so at ease after speaking with him. Two surgeries later I am extremely please and thankful I chose him.

had a a total hip replacement 4.5 weeks ago. Always in pain, can't sleep. wish I wouldn't have done it. feel I was better off before. treated like a number not a person when I called office with fears and concerns. I guess i'll just suffer forever. they don't even answer the phone. don't recommend. also was told no restrictions right after surgery - that was a lie! no more surgery for me. i'd rather suffer than go through this horrible hell and pain again. no thanks.

Extremely disappointing. Chose this surgeon based on the info supplied at his educational presentation. Was operated on six months ago. My leg is half inch longer because pelvic bone was pulled down in surgery and now have permanent nerve damage in foot from a stretched sciatic nerve. This was according to the EMG test I had two months after surgery and the doctor who administered the test. Now I always walk with a limp, it's like walking on a fulcrum. My foot and half my leg is numb. I cannot drive and cannot stand on the balls of my toes so I could not resume my dance exercise. Also ongoing pain, so sleep has not improved. Big mistake in chosing this surgeon

I am a patient of "all-world" 5 STAR Dr. Lupo and received hip replacement surgery with minimally invasive direct posterior approach/ robotic. I couldn't be more pleased with Dr. Lupo, the surgery outcome, professional staff etc. I would absolutely recommend to family, friends, and anyone within shouting distance! I could not be more satisfied! Thanks to Dr. Lupo and everyone for extreme patience and their efforts with a "difficult" patient!

Outstanding physician. I was steered Dr. Lupo's way by a colleague who had had excellent results with his hip replacement surgery in January 2018. After meeting him and hearing his explanation of how surgery with the Mako robot would be different from the traditional "eyeballing" the joint, I went with Dr. Lupo over another, outstanding but more traditional surgeon. The results have been great - and Dr. Lupo is communicative, intelligent and respectful with patients in office visits.
