Issues after visit
The visit was fine and she was polite and her bedside manner was pleasant. Decision was made to have surgery. While the office was in-network, the hospital the surgery was to be completed at was out of network. When I contacted the surgical scheduler and messaged the doctor, I didn’t hear back from either even with the complaint of painful symptoms increasing and changing. I do feel as though this doesn’t follow the Hippocratic Oath as a physician or medical center. It feels as though the lack of communication is a result of deciding to have the surgery at a hospital that was in-network instead of paying for everything out of pocket. My advice to patients is to make sure you do your due diligence and have all the information needed to make an informed decision. I wasn’t thinking about surgery when I started as a patient. It’s extremely stressful to start the process with a new doctor once a diagnosis was given.

Above and Beyond: Dr. Piper is Amazing!
I had an excellent experience with Dr. Piper for my annual OB-GYN check-up. She was incredibly caring, kind, and very helpful. I felt uncomfortable at first, but she walked me through everything and kept reassuring me that I was doing great. It’s clear she loves what she does and truly cares for her patients. Highly recommend!

I would definitely recommend Dr. Piper
I was impressed with her knowledge, compassion and patience. Her voice was very calming. She did not mind my asking my Oncologist for an opinion and waited for me to do so. The whole experience made me appreciate the complexity of Women’s Health problems. Although the procedure did not go as planned, she suggested an alternate test that would cover most of the same concerns, at the Morrisville office, on the same day. The results of the second test showed that I did not have uterine cancer and my melanoma had not spread to that area.

I’ve never encountered anything as horrible as my visit with Dr. Robin E. Piper. She treated me like I was dumb, dismissed my concerns, and was extremely condescending. When I expressed my pain and other symptoms, she said, 'Hormones fluctuate; that’s just what happens. I do not have a magic pill to help you.'When I pointed out how unprofessional it was to dismiss my pain, she literally replied, 'I didn’t think you were in that much pain,' completely ignoring the symptoms I had just explained. I asked about nutrition or exercise to help, or to discuss any side effects of birth control, and she said, 'I am not trained in nutrition; I only went to school to give you medicine.' She said that 'birth control has no side effects, at least in my 12 years in this profession,' repeatedly using her education to invalidate my concerns. Please seek out another provider if you're looking for someone who will genuinely care for you and treat you like a human being.

New Patient
I will be returning for my follow up appointments. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the front desk receptionist, her energy was positive and welcoming. The office was clean. The wait in the lobby was a little longer than I expected but they were short staff so I completely understood. The nurse who took my vitals and the lab tech were also kind to me & knew what they were doing. Kudos to the lab tech for getting my vein on the first try & not bruising me!!! Dr. Piper was awesome! I felt like she truly cared and wanted to help me and not just take my money, which I rarely experience at women clinics. Overall I was happy with my visit & I recommend for any looking in the Cary area.

Love Dr. Piper!
Dr. Piper is one of the physicians at my OBGYN practice and delivered our third baby. I can not say enough good things about Cary OBGYN or Dr. Piper, the entire practice is like a well oiled machine, full of warm, helpful and proactive individuals and Dr. Piper exemplifies all these qualities. I felt so taken care of during my delivery (so seen and heard) and because of Dr. Piper's care , I had the smoothest deliver of my three children and the most blissful early days with my new baby :)

Fantastic Doctor
From the moment I walked in, I felt comfortable. The lobby reception area was calm, not crowded, and easy to navigate. The nurse who brought me back to the exam room was pleasant and kind. Dr. Piper took the time to meet me prior to the exam and was extremely reassuring and non-judgmental. She really listened and did not minimize my concerns nor rush me. During the exam she told me everything she was doing and why and was gentle and respectful..

Understanding Menapause
Dr. Piper took the time to truly hear what I was experiencing as a newly post menapausal woman. I was desperately ready and needed more than what my GP could offer. Dr. Piper educated me on options and put a plan in place for me that I felt confident with as well as deeply appreciative for. I would highly recommend Dr. Piper for any OB-GYN need.

Caring, but at what cost?
She comes off as incredibly caring yet there’s also a touch of apathy mixed in. I went in with PCOS related concerns and all she suggested was weight loss surgery. However, I don’t have a binge eating disorder. I don’t need the size of my stomach decreased. I need help managing my hormones. I am not claiming I know more than her. I did not go to medical school. However, I have been reading medical journals and studies on PCOS for over 4 years. As someone who lives with this disease, I felt that I was not heard. None of my other concerns were addressed in the appointment. I was too frustrated to address the other things on my chart. I won’t be going back. Additionally, she prescribed me progesterone to start my period without ensuring I wasn’t pregnant. That seems highly irresponsible to me, but what do I know? Apparently nothing.
