Dr. Rodney Chan, MD

Dr. Chan is an amazing doctor. I first met him 9 yrs ago when I had breast cancer in left breast that required a mastectomy. He was working in the burn unit at BAMC at that time. At every appt, he answered every question I had (and I had a lot), never rushing me, always explaining everything every clearly. Professional, caring, compassionate, with a great bedside manner at the hospital. He did a tram-flap reconstruction and it went smoothly and w/o issues. Follow up was regular and always with the greatest concern for me. I found Dr. Chan again in July of this year when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in my rt breast. He did a needle expansion reconstruction this time. Again, no problems, follow up was like clockwork. He's at STARS now and the staff there are amazing. I couldn't offer a higher recommendation for Dr. Chan and STARS. If I ever need any type of plastic surgery in the future, he's the only doctor I will see.

I'm doing a lot of travel, only staying in one area for about a week at a time. I called STARS and they were very attentive and accommodating. They scheduled an online evaluation with Dr. Chan the next day and were able to complete the procedure a few days later. Everyone was extremely professional and friendly. They were extremely good about social distancing. Although I had to wait a bit outside the office, I never even saw another patient while I was in the office, I only could see them going in and out. Dr. Chan was very competent and easy to talk to. I was made very comfortable during the procedure and it came out perfectly. I had zero pain while it was being done and, very minimal pain the next day, and none after that, without taking any pain medication. Very happy!

Dr. Chan's has treated several family members and they are doing wonderful and look terrific! So, when I decided it was time for a tummy tuck there was no other choice for me. His credentials are impeccable. I asked my other physicians confirm my decision to use Dr. Chan for this procedure and they all whole heartedly agreed that he was the surgeon for me. During our initial consultation for the tummy tuck, Dr. Chan said that he could improve the look of a very large ugly scar from a previous surgery and that he recommend that I go with an Extended Abdominoplasty. Best decision ever! He removed years of unwanted "extra skin, tightened loose, sagging muscles, removed the horrible scar and gave me a waist for the first time in my life. I could not be happier. Dr. Chan and his entire staff are knowledgeable, friendly, caring and very professional. They have responded to my concerns promptly and answered my many questions without hesitation. I highly recommend Dr. Chan!

I was trying to allow a severe burn wound of mine that had occurred 6 weeks before I met Dr Chan to heal by secondary intention, but the wound only healed up to a certain point, then stalled. Dr Chan immediately arranged surgery to apply a skin graft after he reviewed photos of my burn. His bedside manner was wonderful! He spent a lot of time explaining treatment option advantages and disadvantages (including non-surgical. I was chicken of having anesthesia.) The graft healed nicely and I was very thankful for his guidance and his excellent surgical skills. Office staff also wonderful. They were very courteous and answered the phone promptly(after a brief robotic directing of the call), and called me back with answers to my questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Chan for anyone needing plastic surgery!

My sister had a terrible wound for over a year. She had seen specialist after specialist, and no one seemed to get this under control. Dr. Chan and his staff were very caring, and made sure my sister was taken care of. Her wound is finally starting to heal, and I can't help but feel eternally grateful that my sister is smiling again. I would however give the hospital 3 stars. They had nothing in place when we needed it. They blamed Dr. Chan, but apologized later when they found THEIR error.

I would like to thank Dr. Kunasz for all his understanding and outstanding bed side manner he gave to me during my procedure. I highly recommend him to any one who is looking for any kind of procedure. Dr. Kunasz helped me gain my self esteem with my breast augmentation which I am extremely happy with the results. He took the time and answered all my questions and concerns when it came to my final decision to have the procedure. He will be the first and only plastic surgeon I will go to.

Dr. Chan is so kind and his staff is always available whenever you call with any concerns. Breast augmentation turned out amazing. Recommend!

My husband had the bad luck of Dr. Chan. In going through the NE Baptist wound care clinic, we met Dr. Chan. Stay away from this man if you can. He could be dangerous to your health. With very little experience in extensive wound closure, he will create a bigger problem than what you started with.

Competent and caring and professional. Highly skilled with an excellent bedside manner. His staff are caring and welcome any and all questions. I loved that he genuinely seems to love what he does and how his skills help people achieve realistic results. I would recommend him to my family and friends in an instant

During my initial consultation, Dr. Chan made me feel super comfortable and was highly professional. I underwent my tummy tuck about 2 months ago and my results are incredible. He and his staff were there through my recovery period and I couldn't have done it without their guidance and support. Very considerate before, during and after the procedure. He was patient and explained what he was going to do. During the procedure he continued to check on our comfort. We though Dr. Chan was throughly professional.
