Dr. Ronald Childs, MD

I love Dr. Childs and trust him fully with my care. He did my surgery in 2016 and I would not trust anyone else! Highly recommend. He treated 2 of my sisters as well! Excellent care, concern and bedside manner.

Positive. He performed a diskectomy on me in 2005 and fixed a very painful neck problem.

Dr. Childs took time to explain my condition to me. He went over various options with respect to treatment and explained to me why some of them would work better than others. He did not talk down to me and the whole visit made me feel better about my situation.

It was an efficient appointment, on time, friendly doctor and staff. The only problem I have is that I needed a Rx for PT for vestibular PT and Dr. Childs refused to write it as he said I needed to go to my ENT for this. Neck pain, ear crystals plus vascular migraine --created vertigo/dizziness. I happened to go to him for an x-ray of spine and neck and wanted to make sure my PT also involved any maneuvers for my ear crystals. it seems unnecessarily rigid to have me go to another doctor work up for this. Will not return to him.

Dr. Childs always listens to you and goes over everything in a manner that you can understand and answers all your questions. His kind and gentle manner along with his vast knowledge makes you feel so comfortable in your care plan.

Dr. Childs is an outstanding surgeon. He explains the medical procedure in detail and he has an excellent bedside manner. I highly recommend him.

This was my second visit with Dr. Childs. He took an x-ray and knew exactly what my back problem was and what’s better, he can fix it! I also loved his bedside manner. He even gave me a suggestion for care for my mother who is suffering from Alzheimer’s! Highly recommend!!!

I ended up getting emergency spinal surgery (laminectomy and discectomy of L4/L5) after losing my ability to walk due to my disc crushing my right sciatic nerve. I called Dr. Childs on my way to the hospital to let him know I was coming, and Laura (his PA) collaborated with me right away. I felt as though I got specialized care from them in the hospital, even though my admittance wasn’t planned. They were able to do my surgery ASAP, and my pain has been almost nonexistent since. I can’t thank Dr. Childs enough for giving me my life back.

Dr Child’s takes the time to listens to his patients. He doesn't do a rush job to move on to next patient. He explains things and if you still don’t understand or have questions he stays and answers them and explains in laid terms. He always has a smile and very polite. All in all he is very good. I am going to him for something different but he has operated on me in the past and did a great job, he was the first person for me to reach out for what I am going through now something totally different from past. He does try to do everything to avoid surgery so that is a big plus also. Over all he is great.

Great experience with Dr. Child’s. He clearly explains your diagnosis and way forward with recommended course of action to repair your unjustly via surgery, physical therapy etc..

First post op visit after a level 1 Anterior Cervical Discectomy and fusion on the 3d/4th vertebrae. Dr. Childs spent considerable time going over the results of the procedure and answering all of my questions. The visit included X-rays which Dr. Childs used to aid in the description of the outcome. He neither rushed nor wasted time which I appreciate. He is personable and communicates well. As an aside, my surgical experience with Dr Childs was also exceptional and went exactly as predicted during the pre-op process. Alexis Tran, Dr. Child’s surgery scheduler was also outstanding.

Dr Childs came highly recommended and listened carefully and answered my questions clearly. He gave me a good perspective on what to expect. Office staff was very efficient.
