I'm transgender and I was assigned to Dr Koneig after requesting a change in provider because I was frustrated/discouraged by the care by my previous provider. I have a fair amount of medical trauma and did not get my hopes up when I got assigned a new provider. Dr Koenig has been so straightforward and respectful. He has never microaggressed me, or made me feel hyperaware of my gender and that I am "different". I am used to this happening constantly in most medical situations. Additionally, I am seeing him for a chronic illness that I've been managing for years. I was finally able to ask questions and gain a better understanding of my illness and how to manage it. He is not condescending and I didn't feel rushed. My condition requires him to monitor my bloodwork throughout the year, and he has always been reliable to put in the order and communicative and kind about my results. It is a breath of fresh air to have a competent and kind provider to help me manage my health.
