Dr. RORY MAYER SAVED MY WIFE'S LIFE
Dr. RORY MAYER SAVED MY WIFE'S LIFE October 28, 2024Dr. RORY MAYER TEXAS SPINE & SCOLIOSIS is the absolute best surgeon, or any other doctor, I have met in my 82 years of life. There are not enough superlatives in the English language for me to express my deep appreciation and respect for Dr. Rory Mayer Dr RORY MAYER IS EXTREMELY UNIQUE, COMPETENT, EMPATHETIC AND SUPERBLY WITHOUT PEER. Background:4 years ago, my wife suffered mild back pain. She was referred to a completely incompetent doctor, Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin. This doctor at Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin immediately decided, without any in-depth analysis or discussion, that my wife needed back surgery. After 3 surgeries by this incompetent doctor she was completely disabled and bedridden 24 hours per day for 3 years. We then contacted Dr Mayer who TREATED MY WIFE WHO IS COMPLETELY RECOVERED, GAINED 6 INCHES IN HEIGHT, SUFFERS NO PAIN, IS WALKING UPRIGHT AND HAS REGAINED HER LIFE WITHOUT DISABILITY

Dr. Mayer is an extraordinary surgeon in many respects. He was very personable and engaging with me from the introductory visit to my latest post-surgical checkup. He answered carefully my many questions and provided a complete risk/reward scenario fo satisfy me and my inquisitive daugther who is a surgical PA. He explained his approach, contrasting it with other "more invasive" techniques that I have experienced, ensuring that I was comfortable with the procedure and expected result and recovery. He personally called me a number of times to check on my preparations and then my recovery. His technical skill and obvious good result speaks profoundly to his excellence as a surgeon and careful practitioner. He has assembled a dedicated team of excellent medical practitioners in all aspects of surgical support. I would not hesitate to engage him again if necessary, and highly recommend him and his amazing team at the surgical center.

Highly skilled neurosurgeon! I was referred to Dr. Mayer for a second opinion for a laminectomy & removal of a T4-T5 spinal tumor that was severely compressing against & adhering to my spinal cord. Based on his care, concern, excellent credentials, thorough explanation of my condition as a medical emergency & need for immediate surgery during the initial consult, Dr. Mayer instantly earned my trust & respect, & I felt confident in switching my care to him. He carefully listened to my concerns, thoroughly explained my MRI results, including the risks/benefits of surgery, & clearly answered all of my questions. My surgical outcome & recovery so far have been nothing short of a miracle! My pre-op pain is gone; I have regained my range of motion & strength in my left leg; & the numbness in my right leg & other symptoms are gone! My entire family & I are so incredibly grateful to Dr. Mayer for my better-than-expected results & recovery! I highly recommend him without reservation!

I wish I could give Dr. Mayer more than 5 stars! I would highly recommend him to anyone! He listened to my mom, treated her with a sense of urgency, explained everything well, and answered our questions. He thoroughly reviewed her case and obtained further diagnostic imaging for more information prior to surgery. He explained all risks/benefits of surgery and explained his well thought out contingency plans based on what he could possibly find during surgery. During surgery, he removed the entire tumor while preserving all motor and sensory function. The day after surgery, my mother’s pain was minimal, she regained significant range of motion and strength, and she was able to ambulate short distances with hand held assist and/or a rolling walker. Not only is Dr. Mayer a skilled neurosurgeon with excellent outcomes, he is an excellent medical professional. He shows sincere care and compassion for his patients, has excellent bedside manner, and provides top notch personalized care.

Dr. Mayer is much better than 5 stars. His humble, caring, talented, gifted, and informative personality is what makes him an exceptional young Doctor. Receiving calls (5) from Dr. Mayer at home is unusual in this day and time. It is usually left up to the staff. I highly recommend him to my friends and family.

Dr. Mayer is a caring, talented doctor that operated on my back. Before surgery he explained everything thoroughly and took his time answering my questions. After surgery he followed up multiple times which I think is very important! Great surgeon with great bedside manners!
