Feeling of comfort
My husband was diagnosed with stage three melanoma that spread to his lymph nodes in December 2023. We were referred to adapter that we did not like or felt comfortable with, and we ended up choosing Dr. Undevia and could not be happier with him. He is very empathetic and listrns and is there to answer any questions. This was such a stressful time and he really put us both at ease. My husband just finished his 17th treatment of immunotherapy and got to ring the bell! We will still continue to see the doctor for the next four years while having scans. His entire team was great and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience with his care team at Edward Elmhurst and Edward Naperville!

Would not recommend
Dr. Undevia may be a good cancer specialist for treating common cancers, one size fits all kind of a treatment. He is not skilled at treating patients with rare cancers, although he claims to be a sarcoma specialist. He wasn't knowledgeable about the cancer he was treating my family member for assuming a 'standard sarcoma protocol' should work, argued that this cancer does not spread to lungs, didn't welcome questions and made us feel stupid for asking. Another specialist from MD Anderson stated 'this doctor is letting you die' which eventually did happen to my family member. He didn't do scans before the hypac resection surgery stating after 'cancer exploded' having to take out and cut into 8 organs leaving the patient unable to eat ever again, vomiting bile all day. Suggested he should eat and ordered TPN only after I requested it after a loss of 40lbs. The worst was hearing him laugh from a room next door as he was transferring care to a different doctor, zero compassion.

I was referred to Dr. Undevia a little over 10 years ago, after having been diagnosed with stage 4 B-Mantle cell lymphoma. After reading all sorts of horrible stories about treatments, prognosis, etc. I was even more terrified. Upon meeting him for the first time, his Dr.U won both my wife and I over, and decided to start treating my stage 4 B-mantel cell lymphoma ASAP. 10+ years later, I'm still cancer free, and Dr. U's attitude and "bedside manner" put me at ease in possibly the scariest time of my life. I would recommend him highly!

Dr Undevia is awesome, he listens, shows you scans and results. Gives you options, the cancer I have is rare and he is very knowledgeable and has been right on for almost 5 years. His nurse is just as amazing. I understand everyone has a bad day but I have not come across it with him and see him every three months. I believe I’m doing better than expected with his help.
