I brought my three-year-old in to address stool withholding. Being that Dr. Karjoo is a pediatrician I thought perhaps she would be friendly with my son. Not the case, she did not address him directly at all, nor did she even introduce herself to him. Her bedside manner (or lack of it) did not help my already nervous son. In addition to having zero rapport with her patient, she also mentioned that perhaps I was at the wrong office as she is a gastroenterologist. I was under the impression that the colon was part of the GI tract. That did not stop her from seeing us of course and charging us $500+ dollars. I am in no way one of those people who will gripe about the cost of medical care- I fully understand that specialists often go to school for 20+ years to treat their patients and should be paid accordingly. I just found it interesting that she felt I was in the wrong office but was not at all hesitant to bill me as a level-four new patient.
