A wonderful surgeon who cared about me!
Dr. Reeg operated on me for my 2nd SI Joint fusion in Dec. of 2021. I am doing great! I just recently flew up the stairs at the Olympic Stadium in Athens, and I hike regularly in the mountains of NC. I am so grateful to his expertise!! He also got me on a path for osteopenia health! I would not have considered this at then 57 years of age, but am so glad I had his heads up. You are a 5 rating in my life!!Lisa Byrom

Spinal surgery required after auto accident
I am so thankful to have been referred to Dr. Reeg. He in essence gave my life back to me after being run off the road by a negligent driver. I was in horrific & constant pain standing or walking, with constant R leg pain. Nearly all of spine was damaged to some degree. In addition to spinal fusion, laminectomy, spinal stenosis which he corrected he was kind, compassionate and caring. He has an air of confidence that is very reassuring to a patient in pain and considering corrective surgery. He is highly recommended by me. If further spinal surgery is necessary I would not consider anyone but Dr Reeg.

Dr. Reeg is a superior surgeon
I had an issue that was causing intermittent paralysis from the waist down and severe pain. Dr. Reeg knew exactly what to do and explained it fully. The surgery went very well and I have recovered fully. The one thing that stood out about him was he would come by to check on me at all hours, and that kind of oversight by a surgeon is not common. I would trust and choose him again if I had to get another surgery. He is the hardest working man in surgery and the best at what he does.

Incredible surgeon and man. Endless praise
Dr. Reeg corrected my severe scoliosis via spinal fusion 2 years ago. The results are the best I could've asked for. I have little to no pain and still have mobility despite most of my spine being fused. He was incredibly thorough with post-surgical care (sutures, padding, bracing, restrictions, etc.), even nurses made comments about how thorough he is compared to others. Not only is he an amazing surgeon, but a kind person who genuinely cares for his patients and their well-being, not just money. He isn't warm and fuzzy; he will be realistic with patients and give his professional opinion wether it's liked or not. However, his bedside manners are great. He was very kind and comforting to me in the hospital and came to check up on me everyday. He clearly cares about what your life will be once you leave his office. At checkups he asks about my everyday life, college, career plans and gives medical advice accordingly. Id never trust anyone else with my spinal health.

Dr. Reeg was very kind and very thorough when explaining the issues with my spine. He does not try to pressure you into surgery, but suggests alternatives that may help.

Dr Reeg diagnosed my son with kyphosis and did the surgery on my son’s back in June 2000 when he was practicing in Greenville, NC. The surgery was a complete success.. What a wonderful doctor! I would recommend him to anyone.

I waited a ridiculously long time for Dr Reeg to finally show up to evaluate my severe scoliosis. His complete indifference about my case was appalling. I would NEVER go back to him or recommend him to anyone.

Dr Reeg has just moved his practice to Apex, NC from Greenville, NC this year. My observation is that all but one of the reviews is prior to his move, and the resultant change of staff may make a difference. I had thoracic spinal fracture surgery done by him in Greenville, and I could not be more pleased. Unrelated to the fracture, I was getting regular injections by a neurologist for lower back pain, beforehand. I have not had an injection since! Outcome is most important to me.

First off as a physician it is important to present yourself when you walk in a room. This is basic in education. Second it is of poor judgement to explain that a childs condition is not repairable in front of the child and if it has to be done expain it so the child isnt freightend to death. He might be a great doctor but these details need to be ironed out for the greatness to really show. Just common sense

Very compassionate physician. While he may not appear warm and fuzzy during your visit, he is listening to all of your history, looking at diagnostic test and thinking the best approach to improve your spine health. Should he ever leave eastern NC, I will follow up for my spinal needs. Would not trust anyone else!!!
