Both Hips Replaced By Dr Faucett
Dr. Faucett performed total hip replacement surgeries on both my Left and Right Hips in the past 10 months. Prior to the procedures, I could not walk due to the intense arthritic pain in both of my hips. I was very active prior to my arthritic hip pain and now after the surgeries, I am able to work out again at the same 6 days per week 100 percent intensity level. I have not had 1 second of pain or discomfort! Not only is Dr. Faucett an amazing orthopaedic surgeon but his entire team (Surgery Scheduler, Pre Op, Post Op, Surgery Team, Office Staff) are friendly, professional and thorough. I am about to turn 60 and would like to thank Dr. Faucett and his assistant Rae for making me feel like I’m 20 again!

Excellent Surgeon - Knowledgeable and Respectful
Dr. Faucet is an excellent doctor and surgeon. Absolutely Top Notch. I have been an athlete my whole life and certainly seen my fair share of Surgeons and Orthopedists. Dr. Faucett is raising the bar in sports medicine. The communication and follow-up from him and his team are the best I have ever experienced. No more waiting days or weeks to hear back about follow-up questions and his office space is wonderful. Dr. Faucett is a great surgeon and all around good person. He repaired my detached labrum and most recently helped me with a total knee replacement. I was ahead of the curve throughout the entire process and he provided me with insightful feedback. He remains my point of contact for all related issues. I cannot recommend another Orthopedist more for Hip or Knee related issues.

Forever Grateful for Dr’s Honesty & Integrity
I am a 50-year-old avid runner who saw Dr. Faucett after tearing my meniscus last August. Having run continuously since I was 15 years old, my injury was devastating to me. Other surgeons were quick to recommend cutting out the impaired meniscus. However, Dr. Faucett urged patience, suggesting my overall knee integrity was good and there was potential for my injury to heal—if not, he suggested a full repair rather than removal. Dr. Faucett’s assessment that I may heal without surgery was spot on. Nearly a year later, I’m inching closer to my level of pre-injury running. I am forever indebted to Dr. Faucett’s integrity and honesty—for leading me down a path that was in my best interests while not pushing surgery on me even if that was in his best interests. Dr. Faucett saved me a lot of pain and disruption with his honesty and integrity. I would turn to him in a moment if I ever needed advice on my knee again. Kudos from a grateful customer!

Disinterested in my pain
I've been a patient of Dr. Faucett for several years. at my last visit, he could not have seemed less interested in me or my chronic pain and basically threw his hands up even though, initially, he was full of ideas, some of which we have never explored. I've always found him distant and rather prudish, but now i'm looking for another doctor.

Inexperienced, with ego.
Inexperienced surgeon with an ego, who failed to diagnose and correct own mistakes. Everything up to the surgery went fine. However, after surgery, my wife couldn't pick up my medication because prescription was sent to wrong pharmacy. She had to endure pain until meds were ready for pickup. Issues after surgery were not promptly addressed and access to questions after surgery is via emails only. She experienced a complication and had to see another surgeon, because Dr. Faucett would not see her sooner. The complication had to be fixed by another surgeon. We both shared the experience with all work colleagues, friends and family members. This physician should be audited by medical board.

Great Doctor
It's been nearly ten days since Doctor Scott C. Faucett performed my total hip replacement surgery. I had suffered miserably not being able to get the necessary surgery in a timely manner due to the COVID-19 pandemic being unfortunate to be bumped from surgery list due to a series of blunders which cause undue delays and other "bizarrities" here in Frederick, MD. I was immediately impressed by Doctor Faucett's manner and patient care, not to mention his need for me to get additional X-rays so that he could best perform his advanced surgical techniques and his talk of a special suction device to be placed over the surgical incision or wound to help with the healing process and reduce scarring and the possibility of infection. I immediately realized that this was a surgeon at the top of his game and was proud of being able to offer his patients the very best and most modern techniques in orthopedic surgery which is why I feel like I must communicate my thankfulness for being my surgeon.

A wonderful experience when I first met Dr. Faucett and his PA Maggie. He diagnosed my hip problem, we tried a cortisone shot first with no success as I am so badly arthritic. A full hip replacement followed 2 weeks ago with success. I had my follow up appointment yesterday and they both spent quality time with me going over everything again. Never rushed . I highly recommend Dr. Faucett. Excellent surgeon with wonderful bed side manner.

My experience with Dr. Faucett was extremely disappointing and discouraging. He wasn't empathetic to my injury and what I was going through at all. He gave me options for possible next steps, including surgery, but when asked for more guidance about which would make the most sense based on my injury and information, he shared none. He was very short and seemed annoyed when I asked questions. I left feeling frustrated, confused and unsupported.

I took my seven year old son to see Dr. Faucett at the request of his physical therapist and pediatrician. The PT was concerned with how he was leaning toward one side, that he had a roundish soft tissue growth above right hip and that his shoulders didn't appear aligned. Dr. Faucett immediately put my seven year at ease by engaging him with topics that would interest a child. He then examined his back to ensure that it was bending straight and correctly, he felt the hip tissue, and examine his hip rotation/flexibility. He then said that there was nothing concerning, but that an X Ray would clear up any doubts. I consented to the X Ray. Within minutes we were back with Dr. Faucett and he pointed out the bone structure and growing bones and that everything was fine. I was elated! Dr. Faucett is terrific! AND he's replaced both my hips and I could not be any happier. I completely trust Dr. Faucett, his colleagues and very helpful staff.

Dr. Faucett and his team changed my life! I went to him back in May of 2020 for lower back issues, but it turned out that my hip was the issue. He took all the precautions and was very thorough when it came to planning the best possible outcome for me. I had an MRA done and Dr. Faucett found a tear in my labrum along with FAI. He also mentioned that I could have a type of hip dysplasia, so he ordered a CT scan to come up with the best plan for surgery. Sure enough, as he suspected, I was retroverted. I ended up having the femoral osteotomy, FAI, and labrum repair surgery on July 13th and I am now 6 months post op and I have been cleared to start running again. It was a rough 6 months, but it was totally worth it because I am finally pain free!!! I am also a big-time golfer and am cleared for that too. I am looking forward to getting back out on the course in the springtime and can’t wait to see how it feels. I highly recommend Dr. Faucett and his team if you're having hip issues!!

The staff is friendly and very helpful, and there's even a parking garage right behind the building if you're driving into the city. Dr Faucett is great, asks lots of questions and tries to understand what is going on. Not quick to jump to surgery like some orthos. His PA, Jamie, is super sweet as well. At my first appointment, they both gave me their email addresses in case I had any questions, you really don't see that often. I honestly can't say enough good things about Dr Faucett.

Dr. Faucett was fantastic. Didn't beat around any bushes, told me what he saw, what kind of surgery we were looking at, and recovery time. As an athlete he knew my concerns and addressed all of them in a way I understood and was comfortable with. Surgery went better than planed and so has the recovery. My only complaint is with his assistant. She let me know 3 days pre-op that I needed blood work and surgical clearance from my GP, and she's been next to useless post-op as well.

I was recommended surgery from two other doctors. Dr. Faucett however started off by explaining my condition fully. He explained how we could proceed with surgery but also how effort on my part can alleviate my current condition. The current insurance/medical system I am sure doesn't make being a doctor easy but he reminds me of the kind of medicine my grandfather practiced--to listen to+gauge patients and administer the best possible, least invasive treatment before operating/medicating.

Amazing, amazing doctor. I have never written a review online for anything, but Dr. Faucett is so wonderful I wanted to make sure people who are looking for a good doctor know about him. I am seeing Dr. Faucett for a torn hip labrum. He is extremely knowledge, thorough, and kind. I am a competitive athlete and have had many injuries over the years and seen many different doctors, and Dr. Faucett stands out. I highly, highly recommend him.
