The most arrogant ,condescending Physician.
I saw Dr. Fishman after discharge from the hospital for a severe headache with visual changes. He hardly made eye contact, did not examine me, just read the hospital report on the computer. This doctor also questioned how I knew a medical word I used explaining my symptoms. I am a retired Nurse I told him, which outwardly annoyed him.He said I had a migraine, placed a pill under my tongue, and left the room. Returned after 10 min, stated 'I looked better', gave me samples of this medication, and told me to follow up with my old neurologist. I did not feel better and started to have strange 'drunk-like' feelings as I was leaving the building which only got worse as I was driving. I had to pull over and wait until I felt I could drive. I did report this drug reaction to the office. To the practice's credit, they scheduled me with another neurologist several days later. I would never recommend this Physician to anyone I cared about.

I went to Dr. Fishman many years ago and was diagnosed with MS. He was my saving grace. He always gave me the best advice. I went through many different drugs during my time with him. He will always be the best in my book,

Dr Fishman was so incredibly unprofessional that I have doubts my exam was performed with appropriate attention. He was over an hour late to perform a diagnostic test, even though office hours were over and no more patients were present. He brought presumably an observer to the test without introduction/explanation, then rushed through the exam - yanking needles out at an angle causing bleeding- as noted by the Unidentified Observer- “Um, that’s a lot of blood”. Do not seek care from this doctor.

Found this doctor arrogant, insensitive and incompetent. Gave me a diagnosis, without a examination that was completely wrong. He should retire before he hurts someone.

Best neurological exam and assistance i have had
Desiree Moro , licensed nurse practitioner provided me with an exceptional neurological exam assessing deficits. I was really impressed with her thoroughness and empathy. Dr Fishman reviewed her exam made suggestions and answered questions. I found the two of them very helpful.

Dismissive and rude
I saw Dr. Fishman for a second opinion about my Restless Legs Syndrome. Two medications that I've been on have worn off in short order, leaving me in nightly discomfort. So I was looking for alternatives besides another drug. Dr. Fishman was dismissive and rude. He asked me what I did for a living and when I told him, he said "Spend some time in my waiting room with the patients in there and you'll feel better", implying that my condition wasn't serious and I was some kind of privileged person who was just complaining. I would never recommend him to anyone, ever.

Being new to the area, i wanted to get established with a neurologist. In two and a half decades, I have consulted with three neurologists in my home state who examined me thoroughly, listened respectfully to my concerns, and offered helpful and informative advice. Dr Fishman was the polar opposite. He was rude and belittling, spent less than five minutes with me, and left the room as i was speaking to him. Truly the worst dr i have ever encountered. This physician is not worth your time.

Dr. Fishman seemed to be kind and helpful until I declined an EMG. I had an order for the nerve conduction study only and scheduled for the nerve conduction only. He recommended part 2 (emg) and through tears, I explained I’d had that test many times before, I was afraid, I preferred to schedule at a later date perhaps with meds for anxiety. He Became angry, arrogant, told me insurance will probably not even cover it and he would refuse to do the test at a later date. Told me to pick up my results at the front desk and Slammed the door on his way out. Like a spoiled baby… so glad I didn’t let him stick me with needles!

Agree with the previous review - this doctor did not seem to have reviewed any of the medical records prior to the appointment. He rushes you through, doesn't address existing issues (or ask questions about what someone is experiencing, what brought them to the office, etc.), and then tries to schedule a follow up, again with no explanation.

Initially, Dr. Fishman entered the exam room with a cordial greeting. He asked me what problems I was having, which struck me as odd, since he was referred by a doctor in his same office. He should be expected to have read the referring doctor’s records. Nonetheless, I reviewed my medical issues with him. He then examined my foot movement and inexplicably left the office for 5-7 minutes before returning. (Maybe he left to review my records)? During the remainder of his emg testing, his professional medical communication was lacking. In this regard he revealed little to me about the results of his examination. I asked a question about the test results and his reply was vague. When the exam session ended, he handed me a paper copy of the test results consisting of cryptic numbers of the EMG. He deferred analysis of test results to the primary referring neurologist. In sum, I would conclude that his entire professional demeanor was one of disinterest toward my care.

I have been seeing Dr. Fishman at Integrated Neurology Services for over 6 years for migraines. The first time I saw him, I had a migraine that had been constant for 3 weeks that would not go away with any treatment. My first referral was to another facility that had previously seen me for an unrelated childbirth issue but they would not provide an appointment for 3 months, even when I expressed my level of pain. Dr. Fishman's office scheduled me for the following week and were extremely apologetic that they couldn't see me earlier. Dr. Fishman listens to what I have to say and changes the treatment based on our discussions. We've tried several different techniques and treatments, all of which have provided relief. When side effects were undesirable, we changed the course of action, after discussing everything. I have never felt rushed in his office. I have felt listened to and consulted for my treatment. I feel like Dr. Fishman cares for his patients and works to heal them.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Fishman for several years. He was able to quickly diagnose my condition and recommend a treatment plan. I felt that I was given a voice in decisions to be made. On a personal note, he is caring, takes his time and I never feel that he is in a rush to get to the next patient. I highly recommend Dr. Fishman. His staff has always been extremely kind and help, both at the Lorton and Alexandria offices.

I have been a patient of Dr. Fishman for 11 years now. He is very knowledgable and makes sure my medicine is working through bloodwork and yearly checkups. It's easy to get an appointment with him in the event of emergencies. I am impressed with his professionalism and dedication to good service.

Short and to the point. Expectation I could not keep. Asked me to wrap my elbows in towels or some likely wrap. That it would take 2 weeks to change my habit of bending my elbows completely. I have pain in my upper arms when bended. My concentration span does not take me this long.

I have been seeing Dr. Fishman @ Integrated Neurology Solutions for about 8 years now. I have chronic migraines that had become extremely debilitating and more severe as time went on. They became so frequent that I was suffering from severe migraines about 3-5 days of every week. Since the migraines 1st began in my 20's, I have been to countless doctors, specialists, ER's, had missed days of work, spent vacations cooped up in a dark hotel room, and have taken literally EVERY migraine Rx and pain

Dr. Fishman was incredible. He was friendly, kind and most importantly...diagnosed and fixed my migraines. He spent time with me, engaged with me, and gave me insight (and say) in health care options. I generally avoid doctors, but I would have no issues visiting Dr. Fishman for any needs. He was wonderful. On a side note - his office was wonderful. They worked with me to get me in as fast as possible, and called me with earlier appointments to get me seen more quickly.

The staff has gone out of their way to get an appointment for me and assist with insurance, if I could give them a 10 I would. I am a new patient for Dr. Fishman. I found him to be very thorough in reviewing my history and explaining answers to my questions. Dr. Fishman has a very calm quiet demeanor which I found very reassuring during my visits. I was very sorry to read some of the negative reviews, as they did not reflect my experience at all.
