Dr McNelis is the best. She was my OB for my very first and only late in life pregnancy. She has a wonderful bedside manner. She always takes her time to explain the plan of care for her patients and answer any questions. A pregnancy at 38 years old is high risk but she kept me calm, comfortable and always feeling like I was in great hands. The pregnancy was uneventful but at the end my blood pressure went up. Dr McNelis tried for 4 days to help us deliver naturally, but when it was no longer safe to do so, she rushed us to the OR for a crash c section and delivered our happy, healthy, baby boy. Unfortunately for me, my job changed to an insurance that means I can't see her anymore, but I still recommend to everyone that can they see her.

I was treated very unprofessionally by the office staff at Dr. McNelis' office today. I scheduled an annual exam and was told upon arrival that I did not have an appointment. I showed the receptionist my call history that indicated I had called back in August to schedule my appointment. She said the doctor was already booked and they do not take same day appts. I again explained I already have an appointment and had taken off work to drive 1 hour to see the doctor. Despite the office's review of the call records which proved I was provided with the appointment, I was turned away to drive an hour back home. I requested the office provide commpensation that equates to my lost time and transportation expense, but this was not approved. So, after ~15 years of care, I am ending my patronage of this practitioner and highly reccomend others do the same to avoid similar mistreatment.

I have seen numerous gynecologists throughout my life beginning with life-altering, painful periods that began at 15. I truly felt Dr. McNelis showed little interest in me as a patient because I wasn't planning to have a baby. She was rushed, dismissive and scoldy with me at every appt. She did not address my medical needs. She treated my exams as a waste of her time. I was experiencing unusually intense vaginal itching and was seeking a diagnosis. She said it was probably because I was getting bikini waxes. (!!!) She also is the only gynecologist (and I've seen MANY) who told me that my being on birth control (taken to treat painful, 14-day long periods) for so many years would mean I'd never be able to conceive if I tried to. Every other gynecologist I consulted prior and after seeing her assured me that if I went off birth control, my cycle would resume normally. For gynecological care unrelated to having a baby, SEE SOMEONE ELSE.

Dr. McNelis is amazing takes time to answer my questions and listen to my concerns. You shouldn't judge her based of her nurse.

I do not recommend Dr. McNelis for help w/ infertility or endometriosis. After 3 years of saying be patient & I'd get pregnant, she sent me for a test which she did not explain, & I assumed was a blood draw instead it was dye contrast in my fallopian tubes. I called for weeks to get the results & was put off until I was finally was told all was fine & she had no further advice for me. I went to the TFC who looked at the same test results and talked w/ me to discover I have stage 4 endometriosis.
