Reminded of my disaster with her every single day
I had a prolapsed rectum- common. Laser surgery that didn’t last. Scheduled regular surgery, and she had me see a gun surgeon, who, of course, thought I needed his surgical work too. A disaster- the whole mess got infected, I had a wound vac (basically a large, open wound connected to a drainage machine)for more than 4 months. At the time she told me that “I wound always have difficulty having a bowel movement “ what?? I was too wiped out at the time to ask more questions. And a couple of years later was hospitalized (mid-Covid) with a small bowel obstruction resulting from scar tissue. Was all this just bad luck? While that definitely didn’t help, the experts I’ve consulted are aghast, and believe this to be medical malpractice. I wanted to put this whole mess behind me more than I wanted to sue. I like her personally, but professionally I regret ever walking into her office. Souvenirs- as she predicted, difficulty with bowel movements. And a massive 10 inch long scar

RUN RUN RUN!!!!!Susan is an UNSKILLEDsurgeon! Surgery she performed 2 procedures and BOTH FAILED. She denied it for a year ignoring me-until she no longer could Instead of saying let’s do this again, she got angry started screaming at me insulting me.

I've been seeing Dr. Sgamboti since 2008. She eased my concerns for my first appointment and impending surgery. She has always been friendly, caring and kind at each of my return checkups. I just had my 5 year colonoscopy in Sept. 2018. I will continue to see her for any colon/rectal as long as she is practicing.

Dr. Sgambati did 3 surgeries on me at Rose Medical Center in the span of 2 years. The first surgery was my first ever surgery and I was scared and so was my mom. She made an appointment to come to my hospital room and meet with both of us. She explained the procedure and what the follow up procedures were. She has always been incredibly compassionate and understanding. I've been hospitalized for GI issues that didn't require surgery but she still stopped by my room to see how I was doing.

The surgery that Dr. Sgambati preformed on me was life-changing. She did an incredible job on the procedure itself and her bedside manner is amazing. I absolutely adore her. She is sweet and understanding as well as no BS. She didn't mince words with me and I felt like I could ask her anything. While I was on the operating table (before going under), she made me feel very comfortable. She was great to talk to at my post-ops and I looked forward to seeing her. I HIGHLY recommend her.

She was very professional and quickly diagnosed me with the correct issue (I thought I had extremely painful hemorrhoids which turned out to be a gland infection which turned into a painful abscess). She treated me then and there after explaining the procedure, sent me home with clear directions and information. I would certainly recommend her for her professionalism, kindness, swiftness in a painful situation, and overall competency.

I waited more than 30 minutes to discover Dr. Sgambati’s bedside manner is terrible. For the type of medicine she practices, compassion and gentleness are paramount. She did not talk me through what she was doing, she was abrupt and rushed, and she didn’t care when I indicated she was hurting me. Instead, she became defensive and told me I must have PTSD from an ER procedure I had the week prior. (Of course I did! But she only made it worse.) No apologies, no empathy.
