Dr. Tara Belsare, MD

My experience with Dr. Belsare has only been positive. She takes her time to listen to me, to my input in my therapy and it feels as I am working with her. Over the years we had built a trustful doctor-patient relationship and it had worked really well as I have maintained a stable condition although aI have been diagnosed with a serious mental health condition - Bipolar DIsorder. Before meeting Dr Belsare I had two manic episodes and I ended up in jail and mental institution. Dr. Belsare was my psychiatrist after I left the psychiatry hospital and also my probation officer as I was released on CPL. Wwe built a very good relationship between doctor and patient and for 15 years i haven't had a relapse! I have a normal, successful life. Sometimes there were bumps on the road related to my condition but with dr. Belsare's help I always were able to maintain good mental health. Over the years I also had different psychiatrists as for a period of time I stared working with other providers as my insurance didn't cover visits to Dr.Belsare and I had worse experience with those other providers.

Over 12 years ago I was not heading down the wrong road, I was already 90% of the way,,, until I met Dr. Tara Belsare, MD.... She picked me up and shook off all of the funk,,,, now I'm living the dream.... Whenever I get down,, all i need to do is pickup the phone and talk to Dr. B and everything will be OK..

I highly recommend Dr. Tara Belsare. She helped me resolve long standing issues in a brief period of time. She also helped me see death as a transition and not as an end. She has a kind and warm personality, I am glad she was recommended.

Dr Tara Belsare is an amazing therapist. She gives her full attention, is easy to talk to, relates quickly to one's problems, and offers practical advise that is do-able and helpful. I have very high regard for her professional skills.

I do not recommend her at all. She misdiagnosed me and tried to give me pills for gaining weight when I was at a healthy weight. I felt like the appointments were rushed and she only wanted to just keep making me pay for medications that did not combine well. My therapist was very concerned and even told me to stop seeing her. I'm seeing a new psychiatrist now and she took me off all the meds Dr. Belsare had me on and was extremely confused why she would put me on 9 different medications at the same time. Three of those medications were antidepressants- that math just doesn't add up. Please find a different psychiatrist.

Dr. Belsare is by far the best doctor I have had for mental health. She listens to you and genuinely cares about you and wants to help you.

Dr. Belsare has been the best psychiatrist I have ever had. You can see the passion and care she has for her clients. I have never met a more thorough, empathetic, and overall genuine person. She has changed my mental health in a way that has impacted my life forever. I was in horrible conditions when coming to her, and she has gave me tactics to calm my panic attacks and depression. I have come out the other side a new person. Although I still deal with my trauma and anxiety, I am finally in control of it. Instead of just prescribing me medication like every other psychiatrist I've seen, she listens and empathized with my situation without showing judgement. She has given me books and techniques that are more valuable than any medication. She listened before prescribing me the correct medication unlike many other psychiatrists that I've seen that are aloof and cold and prescribe meds without hearing my symptoms first. Thank you, Dr. Belsare.

Dr. Belsare is a truly understanding and caring person and Doctor. She makes herself available for your needs or concerns, no matter how small they may seem to you or your loved one. She and her staff help make your visits both comfortable and positive. I thank her for the care she has provided.

I cannot stress enough how much damage a bad mental health "professional" can do. I'm genuinely concerned that this woman is licensed to practice. Dr. Belsare employs some methods that are unsubstantiated pseudoscience at best, and others that have been denounced by professionals and researchers as outright harmful at worst. She constantly pushed treatments and solutions to problems that I had already explained were inaccessible to me, and that ultimately would have caused greater damage by putting me in an even more unsafe situation. She also kept pushing to prescribe antidepressants when I had repeatedly told her I'd had multiple trials before that either didn't work or made me feel worse. Even my current therapist was concerned by some of the things she had said. She never even addressed what I expressly came to her for in the first place, having adhd and autism, and her only solutions and treatments were things that often cause more harm to neurodivergent individuals.

Dr Belsare and staff are amazing. Dr Belsare truly listens to what I have to say. I enjoy my interactions with the doctor and her team. 5 star!!!!!

She is by far the best I've ever used. Effective, with amazingly fast results!

I have seen many mental health doctors in our area and Dr. Belsare truly cares about you as a person and works with you as a team to diagnose and find a treatment that helps you feel better. Has helped me more than the other docs I've seen Over past 10 years with regards to PTSD, schizophrenia and addiction.

It's either her way or the highway. She is not willing to go the extra mile for her patients and does not listen to them. I've never been to a worse psychiatrist who would rather let her patients suffer than prescribe them what they need. What a total and complete waste of time it was visiting her. If you want a doctor that literally abandons their patients this is the psychiatrist for you. She has very little experience so perhaps that's why she does not understand how to deal with patients.
