I received very competent care from Dr Drehmer. The office still needs to improve in timeliness. I waited about 15 minutes past my appointment time to see the doctor. He spent 10-15 minutes with me. Then I waited another 20 minutes before receiving the injection, which took about 2 minutes. Everyone was polite, but by the time I checked out I had spent an hour in the office, to receive 15 minutes of care. The office was not busy. The office staff seemed to be doing clerical work while I was waiting. I find this disrespectful of my time as well as my driver, who must wait outside in the heat because no one is allowed in the waiting room during Covid.I believe patient care should come first, clerical tasks after. That being said, the care I received was very good, just a lot of waiting.

Went to Drehmer because he was close to home. HUGE mistake, have had systemic lupus for 37 years. No exam no tests said I was fine! Would have given him a zero if I could. Please go anywhere else.

Contacted in search of more answers. They requested a referral from my physical therapist in which he sent through. I have been working with my PT for a few months dealing with a lower abdominal muscle issue that he was unable to correct. The referral was emailed to me and I asked to forward it on to this office In which they said it must be faxed and not emailed as they don’t have email capabilities. After it was sent in I called to schedule an appointment. I was told they denied my referral because it was listed as abdominal pain and they don’t deal with that. I said it’s been determined muscular by my PT and that’s why I have been referred to this doctor. They then claimed since I don’t gave an MRI they can’t help me and the receptionist proceeded to laugh on the other end of the phone. I have been dealing with this pain where it feels like the muscle is going to detach from my pelvis when I reach any type of flexion and she finds it funny? Unprofessional and lazy.

Dr Drehmer is caring, attentive and listens. Upon my first visit, he asked many questions about my health history. I couldn't remember everything that has occurred, however Dr. Drehmer was supportive and asked the right questions which helped me provide my health history to him. I have been to 3 other Rheumatologists, and Dr. Drehmer is by far the one that I would recommend to my friends and family.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Drehmer?
Dr. Drehmer refused to see me because I mistakenly went to the other "Upper Valley Medical" office first, thereby arriving 20min late for my appointment. The waiting room was empty, but I was told that it was their unbreakable rule that after 15 mins, appt's must reschedule. After waiting 6 months to get in and driving 45 minutes to that office, along with the hassle of getting lost...I am not going to return! This man is way too over-booked to care about his patients on a individual level
