Dr Ma is knowledgeable, professional and courteous. His approach is calming and patient centered. He makes you feel comfortable and empowered. He takes his time to explain complex information in a manner in which you can understand. I highly recommend this physician.

I have an ileostomy and Dr. Ma wanted to get a visual of my stoma. Before he started he called additional staff members along with the in office resident to also view the functioning and condition of my stoma as well as helping him to get towels and dressing in place. I was very pleased and happy that he did all this.

Dr. Ma took over for my previous Colorectal doctor who recently retired. Previous MD had prescribed medication (steroid) that Dr. Ma didn't have experience with; to my dismay, he would not rewrite the script. Steroid would help with the rare occasional itch that nothing else OTC would help with - when the flair up occurred, immediate remedy was needed. This was sole reason for the appointment which took about 6 weeks to schedule. Instead of doing some research on the medication, relying on previous MD vast experience, or listening the customer (i.e. me), Dr. Ma shoved his finger up my rectum, provided some printouts of OTC gastrointestinal supplements that anyone could find using Google, and recommended I start using a bidet! I flat out told him that I was very upset at this treatment plan. He said if it didn't help, schedule another appointment (and being miserable for another 6 weeks) to see him. On top of this, got a bill for $400 for about a 15 minute long visit!

Dr. Ma did a good job of listening to the full extent of my condition and trying to workshop a solution that would be tailored to my personal needs.

It's been about a year since my surgery with Dr. Ma. The surgery was life-changing. I saw him today with a new concern. He was patient, thorough, and thoughtful. I feel just as good about his service as last year. I stand by my review of last year. After 20 years of suffering, he recommended a hemorrhoidectomy after dietary changes didn't help. I feel better than I have in years.
