The entire experience was more than outstanding. As walking in scared out of my mind, the ladies at the front desk were very calming. Take that to the next step, the ladies ( and please forgive me I'm horrible remembering names) in the back were more than wonderful. The woman who placed the IV in me did it on first stab and I did not feel a thing. Outstanding especially for a person who has a needle phobia. Doctor was he usual outstanding self explaining everything with such calm and detail. The Anesthesiologist was calm and so informative as was the surgery nurse. The medical profession needs more places like this where the patient really does matter. The recovery staff was outstanding! Northwest orthopaedic is simply the best along with Dr Kersten!

Dr. Kersten is a 10 in my opinion.He is excellent at explaining what will be needed to make the repair.He has made repairs to both of my shoulders with a great outcome.

Not comfortable with the visit at all. Didn't seem like he was interested in the needs that I have to better myself . Maybe he wasn't comfortable with doing the surgery on me. Felt like I was discriminated against for sure.

He shows extreme care and concern for his patients. Does a great job explaining what to expect during a procedure and what type of recovery you might experience.

This will be my 4th surgery. I’ve had 2 arthroscopic, 1 micro fracture, and 1 ACL replacement surgery. All have went very well. I will never go to anyone else. This is an amazing surgeon. I worked in the medical field, I would know. I would recommend this surgeon to anyone. He also uses surgery as a last option. Amazing doc!

I was assigned to him by my occupational doctor after approximately 1 year from a previous surgery on my shoulder that didn’t seem to get everything worked out. I think we saw each other monthly for about 6 months before we made the decision that it would be the best course of action. He and his staff are maybe the most polite and sincer medical staff I’ve ever been a part of. I’m 1 day out of surgery now and I have nothing but optimism for the future. So thankful to Dr Kersten and the entire staff for helping me into the next phase of my recovery journey.

My surgery was expedited due to its urgency. Everything went smoothly even though there was more damage than expected. I experienced no surgical pain afterwards and stopped taking the prescription meds after the second day. Follow up calls came as promised. I'm very thankful for how it all went. Dr Kersten and the staff have my respect and admiration!

This is my second shoulder Dr. Kersten has operated on and has done a wonderful job. The first shoulder 5 years ago feels better than ever and this surgery went smooth as well! He communicates well as does the staff at NWO. I feel very well taken care of.

NWOS is amazing. I have had the opportunity to work with them professionally and had work done personally. From the receptionists to the nurses to the docs, they are one of the best if not the best clinic in PNW! Dr. Kersten is professional but personal making me feel very comfortable with every part of my surgery pre and post. He repaired my rt rotator in 12/21 and doing great. Dr Tycho Kersten is an extremely personable doctor, professional, kind, wants what's best for each of his clients, well educated in his field of practice, explains things thoroughly so you understand all your options and what's the best options for you, always makes all the time you need...never feels rushed. An absolute best in his field!

As a L&I patient I couldn't ask for a better doctor. He know how to get things done. I would recommend him to any L&I patient. He fought for me when they denied me on a simple issue and since a pervious provider had approval for that same area on my shoulder. Dr. Kersten used that to get the job done. Everyone in the surgical area were so nice and assuring. I was particularly impressed with Hannah who made me feel welcome and safe. The anesthesiologist was great, the OR nurse was great, and Dr. Kersten was so assuring I wasn't even nervous. The post op folks were also very nice and so helpful, the entire process was great. Pretty certain that Dr Kersten is a very special medical professional.

Dr Kersten truly cares about his oatients. He takes the time to explain in detail the diagnosis, treatment options, recovery , etc. He is compassionate and reassuring. These are rare traits in this day and age and I greatly appreciate him!
