Rushed and won't answer questions
I came into the office with a shoulder dislocation. The doctor was very rushed and spent less than 2 minutes in the room with me. He did not answer any of my questions and just clicked through the xray and declared I would probably need surgery. He did not exam me or look at the x ray in any detail. He then ordered an MRI. After he ran out the door, I asked the nurse some follow up questions about my care in the time before the MRI, but she didn't have answers and told us the doctor was already at a 'meeting' and we could wait an hour or just ask at the MRI the following week. After the MRI the following Monday, again the doctor rushed in declaring I need surgery and once I asked questions about alternatives, he seemed no longer interested in speaking to me or answering questions. He was dismissive of my concerns and refused to give me advice for further care or directions for how to help my shoulder heal. He also missed that my rib was broken on the x rays.

I know people who have had knee replacement surgery with Dr Marshall and they were very pleased with the results. However, when he told me I needed total knee replacement on both knees I was 64 at the time and knew if I could hold out for one more year I would be on Medicare and my out of pocket cost would be much lower. So I told him we had to make these knees last another year. He wasn’t happy about that but did try the gel shots which didn’t work and then tried cortisone shots which gave me relief for a few months. Well it’s been a year later, an agonizing year dreading knee replacement. We’ve moved so I found another doctor after researching the internet for one of the best. My new doctor immediately said I’m not ready for knee replacement, that he has other treatments he wants to try first and that surgery would be the last resort. My Advice: Get A Second Opinion Before Knee Replacement

I believe Dr. Marshall is a knowledgable doctor. However, he has rushed through each of my visits without letting me explain the history of my problem and past procedures already tried, listening to my concerns, and explaining the solutions he recommends. I felt completely unheard, and I left the office feeling confused about his goals for me.
