Warm and friendly
Although I waited longer than I had hoped to see a physician, I found him to be very warm and friendly once he provided treatments for my pain and my injury.

Extremely rude and dismissive
Absolutely no bedside manner at all. After being in the ER six hours being shuffled from room to room having tests ran making the pain I was in worse, he didn’t even bother to looks at my chart before walking in the room, spent maybe 3 minutes with 2 of those us arguing about how he was speaking to me. Looked at the clearly very infected area and called it cellulitis. Ended up getting a second opinion the next day and it was something more serious that I needed surgery for not just antibiotics. Had he cared enough to even read my chart or take more than a glance at it he probably would have known that.

Extremely Dismissive
I came in between 2:30-3AM in the morning because I was in a lot of pain and my throat was hurting. I was waking up every five minutes at night and was clearly suffering. I was asked very few questions and briefly examined with a light in my mouth and nose. I was clearly congested and my throat was hurting terribly. This man did not use his stethoscope even once. I was very weak and not in a state of mind to talk too much. I authorized my dad to speak for me. When he repeated the information that I told him, I noticed that he got it all wrong. And while I did suspect an allergy at first, it seemed that my symptoms described the flu. I even spoke with several of my friends who are in medical school or are nurses and they said that my symptoms sounded like the flu. He said that I never brought up the flu concern to him. Here's the thing.... He is the doctor. He should be able to bring up the idea of the flu with me saying a word. He should have asked more thorough questions

Could Have Been Nicer
To make a long story short- Dr. Ojiaku didn't have the best bedside manner during my visit. I went in, suspecting that I had a specific diagnosis. He made it very clear that he thought I was wrong. Even scoffed when I told him I googled the symptoms and listed ten other things he assumed it was. The rest of the exam was short and honestly dismissive. I was then sent to the waiting room, where I waited for an hour without further instructions. After another hour of waiting, I was moved to a room and received an ultrasound from a wonderful sonographer named Bridget. She left to discuss the results with Dr. Ojiaku outside my door, and I heard him ask her, "did the test come back normal?". After thirty minutes, he finally came in and explained that I had been correct- it was exactly what I thought it was. He seemed a bit shocked/embarrassed but was gracious about answering questions. Despite the initial judgment, I appreciate him and his staff for helping me confirm my diagnosis.

Dismissive
Saw this doctor at CHI St. Luke’s on an emergency room visit. Waited several hours pending several test results for this doctor to come in and basically rush me out the door. He basically stated that I needed to deal with the pain, skimmed over our questions, and talked down to us like we were morons who wouldn’t understand. I’ve never been treated to dismissively or rudely in my life.
