Felt I had to write this review. I made an appt. to see this dr on a Sunday, thinking it was amazing that a drs office would even be open. I was told to be ready for a 2 hour visit and plan my day accordingly. They mentioned there would be an EKG and ultrasound of my heart, and payment would be about $350, to complete my co-pay. I thought it was a bit pricey, but for a thorough 2 hour visit, I was fine with it. I checked reviews on other sites and found one where a patient was told the same thing, but the dr only showed up for a few minutes while students and assts. handled the rest. Concerned, I called back to ask how much face time I would get with the dr, they said they’d call me back. The vm response confirmed the dr would only see me briefly, and when I called back for clarification, I was abruptly told he was no longer accepting new patients and hung up! I’m grateful they revealed who they are before I wasted my time. I truly wonder how they have high reviews, something seems off

Wasn't going to write this review, but felt I had to. Made an appointment to see this doctor on a Sunday, which I thought was amazing that a doctor's office would be open on a weekend. I was told to be ready for a 2 hour visit and make sure I plan my day accordingly. I was also told that there would be an EKG and ultrasound taken of my heart and my payment would be about $350.00 as that would complete my co-pay for my insurance. I thought that was a bit pricey, but for a 2 hour visit with a doctor and those tests I was fine with it. I started diving deeper into the reviews on some other sites and found one in which a patient stated that he was told the same thing except the doctor only showed up for a few minutes and the rest of the time he was passed off to the doctor's students and assistants. I called back to inquire as to how much face time I would really get with the doctor and was told that they would find out and call me back. They called back and left a voicemail stating that t

God-Send Doctor
Dr Ben-Zur guided my cardiac care for over 25 years. Being diagnosed with a serious hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, I lived with numerous episodes of irregular heartbeat, fainting spells, dangerously-low blood pressure, and eventually a heart failure. Dr Ben-Zur managed my condition, so I lived an active and productive professional, and social life. With this disease, you could feel absolutely normal and suddenly you are in a black hole. It is either zero or one! And during all these scary dark moments to be able to call and speak and see Dr Ben-Zur is a truly godly, life-saving gift. He would give me all the instructions, adjust medications and bring me back to one. Dr Ben-Zur protected me with a pacemaker defibrillator, which he installed twice, later with ablation, and it was always with utmost care and close supervision. With Dr Ben-Zur I knew I cannot die. I feel blessed and privileged to be his patient. Dr Ben-Zur is an extraordinary human being and Doctor. Deepest gratitude.

I would like to share some of my personal experience and history of interacting with Dr Ben-Zur. In 2007 because of stress at work and many other factors, I have gained more than 35 pounds of my regular weight. One day, after a stressful situation, I felt very sick in the upper abdomen and thought it was a food poisoning. The paramedics took me to the ER where the emergency doctor diagnosed me with having a heart attack. My wife caled Dr Ben-Zur and he immediately organized an ambulance to take me to his surgery room, where he performed angioplasty putting one stent and one balloon. At the first emergency room the doctor told me: This is so nice to have somebody to take care of you so well when it is needed!, then she smiled and asked me: "Are you a celebrity… “ When they were rushing me to Dr Ben-Zur she added: “Don’t forget to invite me to the Oscar’s party.” Later I had the thought that Dr Ben-Zur treats everybody as a celebrity. This story does not finish here. After the procedure, Dr Ben-Zur put me on exercise and diet programs and very shortly I lost 35 pounds. Very soon I felt so good and I did the Los Angeles Marathon. I walked it and finished it in 7 hours. Since then I walked 3 more marathons and we have been dancing with my wife Argentinian tango for many years. Thank You Dr Ben-Zur and his staff are easily accessible and very responsive to your needs. In my life he's : THE DOCTOR Best, Emile Razpopov President Hollywood Global Studios

I’ve been there 3 times and I only get to speak to students or office staff. Never was given the opportunity to speak to the doctor about heart concerns. The student explained that this is how his practice is. The student asks many questions, but instead of him returning with answers i get an office staff person that I refer to as the closer.

Negligent & Unprofessional
He has many patient rooms & rarely engaged with me on my many visits for more than a few minutes, & kept me waiting in excess of 35 -40 minutes on most visits before he entered the room. He regularly utilizes lots of young medical students at a time in his stead. Dr. gave me a stress-test on a tread-mill, and without my permission, asked me to rest & breathe normally while he had invited about 20 students in the room to demonstrate how he could control my pulse by pressing on my coroted artery. I felt like a ginea-pig & was very uncomfortable. In his patient rooms he always pointedly sat at the chair by the door, I felt to make a quick exit because I had a few questions about my heart condition. I felt I was being rushed, & on three of times, he asked me to switch seats with him so he was sitting closest the door. On those occasions, he exited & did not return as he stated he would. His office hand stated that my follow-up visits needed to be at the end of his day, by his request!

The very Best
With out question the best and most caring doctor I have ever had the priveledge to see. He has kept me healthy since 2006. I am not the easiest patient to deal with. But under his care I am doing well. He made me go to cedars for a TAVR procedure which saved my life and certainly improved my day to day health. His staff is also #1 especially Romero who has been there since the start in 2006. Not only is he my doctor but my FRIEND. Lovingly, Ken Simon

State of the Art Knowledge and Personal Care
Dr. Ben-Zur and his team at the Cardiovascular Institute have provided excellent care for my father and for me. He is a great doctor among doctors. The high respect he gets from peers and from the young doctors he trains is obvious, and well earned -- as is the gratitude and love of his patients.

Dr. Ben Zur, My “Cardiologist Extraordinaire!”
Dr. Ben Zur is very well trained in many sub specialties of cardiology. He is very skilled, attentive to detail, and is extremely caring! As a physician’s wife, I’ve had access to doctors considered best in their field. But I have never received the competence and caring that Dr. Ben Zur bestows at each visit. At the start of COVID, I had a hip replacement and was retaining considerable fluid.Dr. Ben Zur checked my legs each morning by FaceTime in order to prescribe a diuretic I recently had a crisis and could barely walk the block to his office. He immediately listened to my heart, checked my blood pressure, and brought me pieces of pills, observing me for quite a while, until I was able to be discharged. Thus started a routine of lab tests, medicine adjustments and office visits. It took many visits before my meds became balanced. Dr. Ben Zur sets a very high bar for his practice of cardiology! “ I am forever indebted to you, Dr. Ben Zur!”

An Amazing Cardiologist! – May 11, 2022
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Ben-Zur?
I have been a patient of Dr. BenZur since 2003. I cannot begin to think of what my life would be like or if I would be alive without the care I have received from him and his staff. I have never seen a physician or his staff that treats each patient as if they are the most important person in the world like Dr. BenZur and his staff provides each time I visit. In these days of what often feels like depersonalized medical care, Dr. BenZur's practice is a credit and a model of what health care should be like.

Best Cardiologist – Feb 25, 2021
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Ben-Zur?
I truly won the lottery by finding Dr. BenZur. When I first went into his office, my blood pressure was dangerously high, I was feeling weak most of the time, experiencing shortness of breath, tachycardia and palpitations . He was able to stabilize my blood pressure, plus after running a few tests he found a congenital disorder that now is being closely monitored. There's no doubt that he's one of the best in his area, but what stands out the most is his Human touch, is not every day that you get to see a Doctor that actually cares for his patients, it's easy to tell that he definitely does and that his true motive and passion is to help people. His team is fantastic as well, couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend Dr. BenZur to anyone in need of a Cardiologist , hands down one of the best!

As a member of the media, I’ve interviewed dozens of doctors over my 40-year career so when I came to finding a quality cardiologist for myself, I knew what to look for. I can honestly say they don’t come better than Dr. Ben-Zur. In addition to being at the top of his field with the latest information and technology, he and his staff treat each patient like a member of their family. In fact, I happily travel more than 60 miles each way just to see him. If you want the best of the best—go see Dr. Ben-Zur!

Dr. Ben-Zur and his staff are amazing. I greatly value quality patient care, and I was quite impressed with how Dr. Ben-Zur and his staff took care of me. Whereas most medical offices have long waiting times before patients can see the doctor and then are rushed through the appointment, the Ben-Zur's Way is quite different. He sees his patients ASAP and takes his time to thoroughly answer any questions. I never felt rushed and actually enjoyed my time speaking with him. He is extremely knowledgeable and informative. Furthermore, Dr. Ben-Zur is up to date with the latest advancements in medicine. This is a great healthcare practice that I highly recommend.

My last visit was great - As I am already a patient, I wanted the OK to undergo a colonoscopy elsewhere, and Dr. Ben-Zur and his team quickly did ECG, stress ECHO (incl. treadmill) test and within just a bit over an hour I was pronounced good to go. It took me no time to book the appointment and with colon procedure scheduled for just a few days away, I was pleased to get 'worked in' at this cardiologist's office with little notice. Kudos to Dr. Ben-Zur and everyone at his office.

He spends time and doesn't rush through his appointments. He explains things very thoroughly. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. If you need the BEST, Dr Ben
