Great doctor with great staff. He explained everything thoroughly and clearly listened to everything I said. Most importantly, I could tell he cared about me and my health. My issue was resolved and I feel extremely comfortable with going back to him if I ever have to.

After multiple appointments and procedures to try and fix a fistula by non-surgical means failed (and may have actually made it worse) I ended up with Dr Barnica, and wish I had STARTED here! He is an excellent, caring and extremely knowledgeable doctor. He and his staff went out of their way to make my repairs happen before the end of the year and an extremely long and painful journey of 9 months. He is masterful with the latest techniques, including robotics and the Da Vinci XI, which cut down on pain, possibility of infection and recovery time. After a four and a half hour surgery, I was up and walking in 4 hours and went home after 24 hours. Dr. Barnica is the solution! Don’t waste your days looking for someone closer or easier to get to…get back to living a normal life in no time! Very Thankful!

I can’t explain my whole situation in this small space. But in looking at all the other reviews one spoke to me. It stated exactly what I wanted to say about Dr Barnica. Dr Barnica is my surgeon for colorectal cancer and I would highly highly recommend him.He is greatly loved and respected by me for many reasons but primarily saving my life. My cancer proved extremely difficult in many ways, its location was one of those difficulties & Dr Barnica expertly tackled this with perfect margin results! But what makes him more special to me is his complete medical to patient interaction. He listens to me and worked to incorporate my concerns into the full treatment plan. He talks to me in a manner that is caring, compassionate & relatable. He coordinated all care for full follow through with my team of oncologists. I can’t say enough words to express my full respect and admiration of him.He brings the “whole package” to expert medical care.

Excellent. He addressed my condition. He listened, explained things, He explained what his plan was for me ( surgery) . I felt that he was knowledgeable and aggressive in his approach. I had no problem getting an appointment . Staff was excellent. I would definitely recommend him.

Horrific. When I tried to express , 1 in particual,(masses of fluids in lower abdomen), Dr.Barnica quickly told me that ," if that were true, you would not even be able to walk",shaking his head from side to side. I replied, " Not even on 2-100 mcg Fentanyl patches? He just shook his head and quickly did an exam. But hey, he did spend some time popping some black heads that had gathered down there. Thanks for the facial, or whatever you'd call that? 3 yrs later, after being advised to video this liquid, I have unflattering,undeniable proof. But it seems ,after being refurred back to him, he felt compelled to deny me a visit. I am now 6' 2" , and weigh 119 lbs,my legs hardly hold me up.ect.. I am amazed at the lenths a Doctor will go to avoid simply making a mistake,And owning up to it ! Doctors do not like educated, vocal people! I had to give a star for this to go on..

I have had two surgeries with Dr. Barnica, both were handled perfectly. I highly recommend both he & his staff. In addition to being very proficient at his trade, he is caring with an engaging personality.

Dr. Victor Barnica is a fantastic surgeon. He is a kind and humble man very willing to spend as much time with you as necessary. Don't let his age fool you he is incredibly knowledgeable. Honestly, he is the best doctor I have ever dealt with and I would consider him a dear friend.

He was able to solve my problem after having seen another doctor for 7 years with no results. Probem solved in less than a month. His bedside manor was great. I felt he really cared avbout my problem.

Dr. Barnica is a highly trained, excellent surgeon with a caring & compassionate bedside manner. He takes the time to answer questions and ensure that the patient understands their condition and treatment options. He is not afraid to tell a patient that they need to wait in order to determine the best course of action and is not quick to recommend surgery. He is an excellent addition to our medical community and the only one in his specialty. We are very fortunate to have him here!

I first met Dr. Barnica in the ER at MMC, he was very thorough, professional and polite. I left the hospital 48 hours later, minus a bad gall bladder, but knowing a Doctor I would return to without hesitation.

Dr. Barnica is an amazing doctor. From my very first appointment on he showed great knowledge, care, concern, professionalism and passion for his work. I never had a question go unanswered, yet I never felt like he was talking down to me either. His staff is excellent and his office is very neat and organized.
