Finger surgery healed w/ crooked knuckle
I scheduled surgery w/ Dr. Short for removal of a moderate Heberden's node on the inside of the most distal knuckle on my left hand middle finger. Before surgery the entire finger was normal and straight with the exception of the bump on the knuckle (size of a moderate size wart). A few days after the surgery when I bandages were removed, I noticed the knuckle was no longer straight looking. From the knuckle to the tip was drooping and I had no control to straighten the finger tip. This was problem was evident immediately after surgery and remained till this day. I brought up the concern with Dr. Short and he belittled the concern - simply said that can happen sometimes and made NO ATTEMPT to address or correct the problem. FYI - I was his last patient on surgery day and believe he's become arrogant and cocky in his aging years of experience. I will never use Dr. Short again.

I'm a military veteran who was injured. I've seen so many doctors over the years that claim to be the best but they haven't been able to fix my complicated hand injuries. As a contractor, I really rely on my hands to do very detail oriented work for my clients. Without my hands, I can't work. Dr. Short is excellent, he fixed my hands good as new, and it's impossible for me to give someone a higher recommendation. He really is the best.

I had ulnar nerve decompression surgery just over a year ago. My condition has not improved at all. I'm a musician and my hands are very important to me. This was a total waste of time and money.
