Dr. Wayne Whitwam, MD

He has been my Heart Doctor for 13 years. Put in Pacemaker 10 years ago and recently replaced it and added a new link....I feel great with lots and lots of energy !!

First seen in ER. A doctor said, "you're in luck: Dr. Wayne Whitwam is here today who specializes in the electrical functions of our hearts." Only in room talking when he saw my irregular heart rate: explained AFIB conditions and the science phenomenally well! Dr. Whitwam explained the benefits of an ablation with the strong possibility in my particular case, to eventually getting off meds (4 years) that not only have some negative affects such as my tiring more easily, but also that these same meds could be going against the positives of my heart's functioning. As an athlete this was all great to hear. I elected to have the ablation procedure which went very well, only a few down days. Now take 1 less med: soon ideally another. (Done cautiously with 2 week heart monitoring). Dr. Whitwam always made sure my needs were met, including going that "extra nine yards" at times. Funny too, he improved on my portal photo, in which he takes pride: as in all he does! Highly recommend

Dr Whitwam is personable and professional. He switched a 2 lead pacemaker for a 3 lead as the left side of my heart was in failure last July. The procedure was lengthy and complicated due to scar tissue from the previous procedure. The Medtronic people were amazed by his workaround. I would trust my life to him any time.

First time patient. Dr. Whitwam was very thorough and explained my situation in a way that I could easily understand. He has a very pleasant demeanor & genuine bedside manner which made him easy to talk to. I look forward to him taking care of my medical needs.

Have been a patient of Dr. Whitwam for over 12 years. Have called for prescription renewal every year. The last four years the office just automatically renewed it. This year the doctor got on the phone, said he hadn’t seen me in four years how was I doing? I said fine, just need a renewal for my medication. He asked where I wanted the renewal sent and we terminated the call. I got a bill for $308 for the phone call because I was considered a new patient after not physically seeing him for 4 years. REALLY!!!!!

Dr. Whitman just gave me back my life. I am new to AFIB and on 2nd visit to ER in 10 days, he performed cardio version and voila! Good as new! He is very experienced in this procedure and I will trust him down the road with my heart! Yes, he’s a bit quirky but many geniuses are and clearly, he’s brilliant and well respected in this field.

Saw Dr. Whitwam in the hospital while I was in ER for the 7th time with AFIB. After 3 years he did a better job of explaining AFib, and my options better than any other cardiologist I have seen in 3 years! He is very knowledgeable when it comes to understanding AFIB and your best options and medications. He also got me back in rythmn and out of the hospital faster than any other doctor I have seen.I highly recommend him if that is your heart issue.

Doctor Whitwam is one of the best Cardiologist. He performed an ablation on me many years ago and also my daughter and a friend and he saved my life! I highly recommend this great doctor!

Dr. Whitwam is the most impersonal doctor I have ever met. No eye contact. No handshake. No hello, how are you. No nothing. On my second visit, he talked football with the nurse during most of my procedure. I thought him very odd and very cold.
