An outstanding medical professional
In reading these other reviews I understand how personal a doctor relationship is, for me this has been a perfect match. I have also been struck by how other office staff has spoken about Dr. Fairfield when he is not around - it is so clear how his team respects his work and I have never seen so much support in a medical office from the labs to the nurses to the office staff. Dr. Fairfield has listened to me and helped me make medical decisions based on who I am as a person and what works for my life, he is kind and effective in delivering information and has taken steps to make sure I am fully understanding of the most important points before I leave his office. He will always do what he says he will do, on time and as expected. I could not ask for more from a medical office than the care I have been provided by Dr. Fairfield.

Personable & Knowledgeable!
Wonderful experience from the initial phone call to set up my appt down to the actual appointment! Dr. Fairfield’s staff was kind and friendly. It’s nice to be greeted with a smile! His nurse was efficient and patient. Dr. Fairfield himself was wonderful! (Based on the staff’s behavior alone and knowing the trickle down theory, I expected nothing less and was not disappointed!)He was personable and interested in me as a person, not just a patient. Asked what brought me to him. Did a thorough exam and answered all my questions as well as my husband’s. Took all the time I needed to be sure I was comfortable with his assessment. I walked away feeling so happy to have found a doctor that actually cared!

Friendly, educated, well spoken
Dr.Fairfield was extremely well spoken, kind, and educated me not only on my diagnosis but also possible solutions. I felt completely at ease and he was very personable throughout the entire visit. It was refreshing to have someone take the time to go through all the information and explain it in a way that I could understand. I was extremely happy with my visit and would recommend him highly.

One of the Worst Medical Experiences I've Ever Had
I saw Dr. Fairfield after being referred by my very competent ENT for a suspected thyroid issue. During my appointment, I found him to be abrupt, impersonal and, at one point, outright rude. He did a perfunctory intake, a brief ultrasound of my thyroid and flatly informed afterward me that I was 'fine.' When he declared my thyroid to be fine, I asked if he thought the issue could be with my adrenal glands, to which he replied, 'They either work or they don't!' I was stunned. When I followed up with my ENT a couple weeks later, she, in a rather odd tone, asked how my appointment had gone with Dr. Fairfield. I told her what happened, suggesting that if she had another endocrinologist to refer patients to, I'd recommend doing so. When I pressed her, she said he'd sent her a note with my results telling her to not refer 'healthy patients' to him anymore. In my opinion, Dr. Fairfield is unprofessional, lacks the appropriate demeanor to work with any human being and I do not recommend him.

The information delivery method was not a good fit
He shared lots of information and statistics. It was hard to bring him back to task. I had a previous scan from another location he did not address, the reason for my appt with him enlarged goiter. He spoke of minor issues that lots of people have nodule's. so I terminated the visit. He reported that if it feels like a golf ball in the throat it’s often a sign of anxiety

Kind, helpful, and knowledgable
Dr. Fairfield is incredibly knowledgable on thyroid issues. I left my appointment feeling heard and more educated. As someone who can have health anxiety, listening to Dr. Fairfield go over every detail (and allow me to ask questions!) was so helpful to me. I am very thankful to Dr. Fairfield and his office staff.

He types throughout your office visit. Says the DEXA scan was poorly done (wow). Will be changing my next Infusion but no reason why. He won't discuss my T-scores. I am so unhappy.

Arrogant and bad mouthed my NP for sending me to him because I have thyroid nodule. I also have Hashimoto's thyroiditis which increases my cancer risk. He did a needle biopsy and it was inconclusive, but had some concerning aspects . Asked me to wait six months to see him again. Went to my ENT instead of waiting 6 months. She immediately ordered a CT scan. Numerous calcifications on my thyroid which are concerning for possible cancer. Having Thyroid surgery soon. I would not recommend him at all. A Big thank you to my NP and ENT.

Completely unprofessional. Dismissed the referring provider's treatment and accused them of malpractice. Accused the radiologist of not knowing what they were talking about. Did not listen to my concerns and was extremely arrogant. I would never recommend anyone see him.

Fairfield seemed nice at first until he pressured me into having my thyroid out. I was having kidney stones frequently(every 6 months for a couple of years) and was told by Fairfield that if I had my thyroid out I would be guaranteed to not develop another stone because the thyroid controlled the formation of stones. Having experienced the incredible pain associated with passing a stone, I agreed. What a mistake! He never informed me I would be on thyroid meds for life, nor did he tell me there might be a chance I might be THE one in 500 that would continue to develop stones! So, when I had another stone surgery months later he just laughed and said I guess you were that ONE! I guess he needed to provide the hospital with a, what, $30-40 thousand dollar operation? What a joke he is. And, I trusted him and thought he knew what he was doing...apparently not. He is no longer at the hospital I first went to him as a doctor. So, beware and get a second opinion!

I saw dr Fairfield today and was disappointed. His secrataries informed me that he was knowledgable about the complicated medical data concerning sub acute thyroiditus I was diagnosed with by two doctors in Europe prior to moving to the usa. This was false. He was cold closedminded and opinionated and tried to proove that because my thyroid has a different presentation than hashimotos that I dont have thyroid problems at all. He believes that all subacute thyroiditus patients recover.Nonsense.
