5-Star Review for Dr. Yaser El-GazzarI had an exceptional experience with Dr. Yaser El-Gazzar at New Edge Orthopedics in Jersey City. From my first visit on March 11, 2025, Dr. El-Gazzar demonstrated remarkable professionalism and care in addressing my complex knee and wrist injuries from a 2024 accident. His thorough approach, including ordering urgent imaging and providing ultrasound-guided cortisone injections, significantly alleviated my pain. He took the time to explain my diagnoses clearly and coordinated promptly treatment, ensuring I felt supported every step of the way. Dr. El-Gazzar’s expertise and compassionate demeanor made a challenging situation much more manageable. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking top-notch orthopedic care!

Dr El-Gazzar provided EXCEPTIONAL care during AND after my son’s trauma injuries. He took the time to carefully explain the injuries, the procedures to be performed and the recovery. He followed up with us several times over the weekend to make sure everything went according to plan, and helped to resolve several concerns. He performed the first part of a complex surgery and brought in a trauma elbow specialist for the subsequent surgery. Attention to detail, communication and patient care were fantastic. Would highly recommend.

I had an appointment with Dr. El-Gazzar regarding foot pain. Post in house X-ray, he prescribes a walking boot and tells me to get an MRI. I get the MRI up in Boston, my wife drops the MRI scan/CD off at his office in JC and a few days later, I have a virtual appointment with him. At my appointment, he tells me that his office staff (who are very nice btw) screwed up and he doesn't have the CD/scan uploaded and he is not at the office to review it. He then tells me to stay in the boot for a month and that he will review the MRI and come back to me with specific prognosis. He never comes back to me. I call the office 7x asking over the course of a month for him to review the scan, I even tell them he can just send an email. Nothing. A doctor who cant even be bothered to review a patient's MRI - that he requested! Why bother being a doctor then?

Dr. El-Gazzar is extremely knowledgeable and caring. The entire staff made me feel safe and welcomed and walked me through the treatments I would be receiving. I highly recommended everyone come here, it's hard to find a doctor who cares this much about his patients.

I did a lot of research when I was considering surgery for my torn meniscus, I came across a lot of different doctors whom I visited before finalizing Dr. Elgazzar as my doctor. There are a number of reasons for my decision and I hope if you have the same questions or concerns, this will help. 1. I was not sure about surgery, unlike other doctors I visited, Dr.Elgazzar read my report and was able to tell me that surgery was not needed as long as I'm not active but was necessary for me to get back into sports and living healthy 2. He ran a full assessment and didn't show any signs of just forcing me into surgery but rather sat with me and explained everything to me.3. He is super friendly and was very professional with the way he answers question. I HAD A LOT OF QUESTIONS.4. MOST IMPORTANTLY, he is a meniscus expert, meaning unlike others he will actually try his best to save your meniscus rather than cut it out like other have suggested. I am so grateful for his help.

If you would like to wait up to 2 hours in a crowded waiting room (during Covid) to meet a disorganized and egotistical doctor, this is the place for you. *The response to my honest review is truly laughable from said egotistical doctor and seems standard when said ego seems to have been bruised with truth. There is nothing libel about having an opinion of a rude and disorganized person and based on other reviews, a 90min-2hour wait time seems standard. Terrible doctor. Not worth anyone’s time and I wouldn’t trust to perform a basic exam on me.

Couldn’t be happier with my experience at New Edge. Dr. El-Gazzar is knowledgeable, responsive and walked me through every step of my procedure and recovery. Office is beautiful and staff very friendly. I was so happy with the care I received a had no problem referring another friend who had a similar pleasant experience. Thank you again to Dr. El-Gazzar and your staff for all you have done!

He is the anti thesis of what a doc should be. He doesn’t provide time to listen to actual issue and always seems to be in a hurry. He is least empathetic and his only goal is to rush through surgery and / or provide a video clip to go through without himself describing the root cause or what the surgery procedure would cover. He misguides wrt surgery recovery time and always seems to be in a rush.

Poor to say the least. He appear to try and figure out where from he can extract money more than checking the patient. He asked to go for 10 things for something as small as some spasm in leg/knee. Even after MRI revealed nothing, he asked to go for physiotherapy - and that too for a specific center! He also would do X-Ray at his own clinic irrespective of whether you have done it earlier elsewhere. He would also request all lab/radiology at his own choice of centers. As I said he would give you a bill that's astronomical. So, be prepared!!

Absolutely amazing experience! Yes, the wait time was longer than others but worth every second waiting. On your first visit, he does xrays (conveniently, x-ray machine and x-ray tech are part of the office) and performs very very detailed evaluation. Bring all your records because he doesn't skip anything, previous MRI reports, surgery reports, xrays...etc. He will take the time to review all of it with you and make sure you understand what it all means. Then he takes the time to explain your diagnosis in such a clear, simplified way using online pictures, educational videos, plastic knee model. I never understood my complex knee issue like that before. He was my 3rd and final opinion, i was scheduled for surgery with another doc and after understanding Dr El-gazzar's conservative tx plan, or "recipe"as he calls it, i cancelled my surgery. 2 months later and i was back at the gym, playing pick up basketball games. Do yourself a favor, go here for the best orthopedic TX and care!

Wait time is way to long waited over an hour, especially since he only keeps his clinic open during normal business hours 8-5 it is really unacceptable to keep people waiting this long if you take time off work an need to go back. Overall I will never be coming back, do not have time to wait for nonsense

Dr. El-Gazzar is an amazing physician/surgeon. I met him over 4 years ago when I had a broken leg and ankle. 2 years later he performed a partial meniscus replacement on my knee. He is kind, caring, confident and knowledgeable. He has done a knee meniscus replacement on my son and seen my daughter for knee issues. The process for all procedures and after care went smoothly because he took the time to explain everything before and after. I would highly recommend Dr. El-Gazzar.
