Hurt and Sad
Saw Now last week for advice and help. I was open and honest regarding my situation and my mental health. Nows’ response was rude and condescending. I left worse than I entered.

He's tough on you, but it is only because he wants you to succeed. Surgery went well. No complications. Got sick a lot at first, and hair thinned out a bit. That being said, I have no regrets having my Gastric Bypass in 2011.

Dr now?? More like dr never
I have a unique situation every bariatric surgeon I come across refuses to proceed with operating on me because the majority feel that me case is too complicated and I guess none of them have enough experience to operate on someone with a tracheostomy and on renal dialysis so because of the show I decide that maybe this Dr might be able to help me to say that calling his office for help was a waste of time would be an understatement his staff was not helpful at all they didn’t even want to hear me out it’s wild to me that in this day on age with all the technology we have that there really isn’t anyone out there with enough experience to perform a surgery the staff was useless and rude I guess my money isn’t good enough for them which is also crazy cause my insurance is willing to pay the whole operation but I guess that’s the world we live in now no one wants to work or make money don’t waste your time this people are useless

Great Advice
I found this doctor's advice for people requiring a 1200 calorie intake to be quite useful. Specifically to divide the daily calorie intake into three 400 cal meals with NO snacks. It might sound simple, but it resulted in successful weight loss for me. In-between meals I drank water or herbal tea, and sometimes chewed 5 cal gum. On an additional note, the concept that weight loss and diet are 100% MY responsibility had to sink in before I succeeded, but it was excellent advice. Dr. Now might be grumpy at times, but he's a great doctor.

I saw him a week ago
I saw him a week ago. He was extremely rude I need skin removal surgery from having children. I’ve never weighed over 200 pounds and that was only when I pregnant I weigh 173 pounds. I have never met a doctor so disrespectful and rude I was very disappointed and hurt.

He’s unprofessional, rude, criticizing, cut me off when speaking, treated me like I’m dumb, this list goes on. This isn’t my first “rodeo” but he has made it very obvious that I will NEVER return to his office. More worried about a TV show and selling his face on magnets, shirts, coffee mugs, etc than having bedside manner. Honestly not worth 1 star.

Hello Dr.Now you are a great doctor and watch your show all the time, thank you for helping many people that need it. But one of your assistance is not very friendly, she always looks discusseted, when she brings the patients in. I have worked in a dental office for over 20 years and never had that adittude that your assistant has. Don't know her name because it doesn't come out on TV. But she always has a face that seems like she is discussed , not professional at all. But great full Dr that you help all these people out that need it.

Dr Nowzaradan is a true general surgeon who cares for his patients well being. I was the Director of Materials at First Street Hospital for many years and I prided myself in getting whatever Doctor Now wanted for all his patients. He is truly amazing in the results and outcomes that he brings to so many. He is dedicated to no end...still working seven days a week out of several Hospitals and his Bellaire, TX office- seeing patients all weekend and conducting surgeries all week.

dr. nowzaradan is a saint, plain and simple. His empathy for people caught in an addiction that kills, but makes others see them as ridiculous and despicable, is unique. When he interacts with patients he maintains his kindly detachment and quietly goes about his work. He takes on the probability of endless lawsuits by working with such a high risk group of patients. He is clearly trying to do good and applies his formidable skills to that end. A noble man.
