Dr. Kim was amazing after seeing three orthopedic surgeons in two states that couldn't address my hip deformity. Dr. Kim is the director of the hip preservation at Boston Children's so I felt very comfortable having him perform surgery on me. And even though I am in my late 20s he was able to see and treat me. His office is easy to work with and prompt. He explains conditions fully and offers multiple options and asks the patient's opinion before making a decision. His Waltham office has free parking, but the main location on Longwood Ave in Boston does not. However I think most of his appointments are out of Waltham. I had no worries about my surgery with him and while I'm still in recovery I am very pleased with the process - I only wish I could've done it sooner!

Dr. Kim performed my hip surgery when I was 19 at BCH. I was really nervous as (1) it was my first major surgery and (2) I was a high-level athlete at the time (college soccer player). The staff were incredibly friendly and comforting to me, and Dr. Kim was fantastic. With his help, I was eventually able to get back on the playing field and finish out my college career. I'm now almost ten years post-op and I still play soccer and run marathons. My hip feels fantastic and I am so incredibly glad I was lucky enough to see Dr. Kim for surgery.

Dr. Kim did my periacetabular osteotomy in 2006. This was scary because the same surgery had gone terribly wrong for me at another hospital. Dr. Kim, hospital and staff were wonderful, thank goodness! 15 years later, I can say with certainty and a track record what an amazing job he did. It was so worth the travel to do this long distance from NYC. My only regret is that I couldn't get my first hip done with him. I'm reminded every day by the pain in my other side. I simply didn't know better.
