Never
These people are the worst. I have a daughter who is doing very badly & her grandfather, my father had just died and the woman -the psychiatric nurse Amy was just awful in the session. She showed zero understanding or even a desire to be with my daughter where she was in the moment. She was impatient, she requested confidential documents that I sent her and then they told us that we weren’t a good fit-all bc my daughter had a hard 1st session. I do not recommend Amy she is terrible with people: punitive, nasty and rude. I will put this review everywhere bc I don’t want anyone else dealing with her. She’s a terrible person and I think I’m going to complain about her officially.

Audrey Hall knows her meds well. She knows how they interact. She offers her opinion and listens to my concerns or questions. She has never been pushy with me about starting a new medicine. She listened and believed me when I told her that I react to medicines at a much lower dose than most people and catered her treatment to that information. I concede that Audrey Hall's temperament is not the kind that automatically puts strangers at ease. Neither is mine, though, so who would I be to hold that against her? After the first two appointments, that feeling improved greatly, and I am grateful I kept coming back because she is a prescriber who treats you with respect, is highly knowledgeable, and takes the responsibility of her job (making life livable for her patients) seriously. She is excellent.

I am happy with the treatment my teenager is receiving. Audrey asks a lot of questions (which, yes, she runs through pretty quickly), and makes connections between things I wouldn't have noticed. She explains how the meds work, and why one may be better or worse than another. She provides the options with pros, cons, and her recommendation, and my teen makes the final decision. I agree I probably wouldn't see her for therapy (not her practice, anyway), but as a medical practitioner coupled w/ a separate therapist we've found her very effective.

My experience with Audrey Hall was distressing, upsetting - her attitude was cavalier and downright hostile at times. My first visit end of August because I was changing insurance in September. I kept the office updated by phone and in person with my new insurance info which I was told was accepted throughout Oct, Nov, and December. The first time a prior authorization was denied (standard procedure) she refused to appeal the decision, would not speak to me and the office staff told me, she could instead change my medication at our next visit in November. It is not recommended this med be ended abruptly and I was very upset and finally after several teary calls to the office, she changed her mind. I received a call from their office at the end of December that my insurance was NOT in fact accepted. I thought this was a spectacular screw-up given that Audrey had already communicated with my insurance several times and the outcome was that I was not charged for my visits with her. AVOID

I would rate zero stars if possible – Jul 21, 2019
×Post a ResponseAre you Audrey Hall?
Audrey Hall was a prescriber for my son for several years. I would attend appointments and his dad phoned in for calls. She was curt, abrupt, and often rude. She barely allowed my son to answer questions (mostly yes or no, then cut him off) and had no interest in my or his dad's questions. When the time was up, out we went-- didn't matter if we still had questions or concerns. She's a frosty automaton. I could not possibly recommend her less. Run for the hills. I only gave her 1 star because zero stars was not an option.

What they say is absolutely true. She requires thorough retraining before she gets her company in deep legal trouble. Address the issue with her and prepare to pay a price. Or just do what I did and politely leave.

It took a while to get an appointment, but I'm glad I persisted. She had come very highly recommended by a good friend who has done remarkably well under her care. I was made feel welcome and felt she very carefully reviewed my history and asked many questions. She then explained her recommendations and gave me plenty of time to ask my own questions. I didn't feel pressured in to taking meds. When I got some side effects her suggestions quickly cleared them up.

I dread seeing Dr. Hall. She comes off judgemental and that doesn’t go away, Even after a year. I have tried to tell her. But I would get more talking to a wall. She will not let patients go every 3 months like other doctors I have seen. When I asked her why? She stated because no one has gotten you right yet. Great patient interactions! Really makes you feel like a failure.

Lacks compassion and empathy for those she is in the field of medicine she chose. For the first time ever in my life I left feeling that office Ike an inadequate person and truly felt like my future care is in jeopardy if I continue to deal with her.

I cannot understand how an office that primarily treats people with nervous, mental, and emotional disorders can be such a toxic and triggering environment for those people. The receptionists routinely blame miscommunications on the patient and good luck getting an appointment in a timely manner. Audrey is wary of overprescribing, which I appreciate, but other than that she rushes patients and either doesn't seem to care or minimizes the severity of symptoms.

Audrey Hall, Amherst, MA, is, in my experience, an ineffective provider. Audrey suggested a type of medication I was not familiar with that I know was riskier and had some side effects. I told her before making that decision, I would need to do research, read some info. She was offended and said (literally)"oh, you're one of those people that doesn't trust what a professional tell you." Excuse me? You need to advocate for your own health. Overall, her attitude and experience is lacking.
