therapist told me to use his report at a doorstop
Everything about this experience was extremely frustrating. All of the staff there really nice and helpful but the doctor and his report was a joke he tried to undiagnose me because he didn't feel like it was right he was rude and tried rushing me when I was upset and crying didn't try and help me during my medical episode and believing it was all just my anxiety he is ableist and ignorant especially if your a woman extremely disappointed and would not recommend I'm going to get a second opinion from someone my therapist trusts. Dont bother it's a waste of money

Unbelievably Full of Himself
I have no idea how he even got 3 stars. When a Psychiatrist, Psychologist and Neurologist each express there disbelief with the report, it should make you question things; all of which said they would never refer ANYONE to him again. I suffered a catastrophic brain injury, and was paralyzed at the U for 2 months. I was trapped in my body, and couldnt say anything. I suffer from PTSD, anxiety and depression and cognitive decline. I have little memory of my last 38 yrs. I feel next to nothing emotionally. He said it was in my head, lol, and dismissed me. I feel sadness for the lives that he probably ruined over the years.

Left crying. Unprofessional and condescending
Super condescending. Poor beside manner. In it for his ego and the money. Was notably happy when I told him my insurance. Made me come in for the results of the neuropsych eval only to read off the page. When I stuck up for myself he was flabbergasted and rude. I left the office literally sobbing and they escorted me out the back. Nobody ever reached out to follow up. Do not go to him, especially if you're a woman or POC. The eval was deemed to be very biased by my therapist. I knew it was unprofessional and imprecise as I took it. I could have found something in the dsm-5 myself and taken it more accurately than whatever they gave me. The worst medical experience of my life, which is saying something, since I am newly disabled.

My story is so similar to the other reviews on this page I wish I had checked this site before taking my son to see Dr. Christiansen. I took my very depressed, unfocused, struggling son to Christiansen with the hopes of getting him help with medication adjustments. We waited a month for results that were definitely summarized by staff (one size fits all approach). We had waited 30 minutes in the waiting room, and when I asked the receptionist what was taking so long, she said he was just printing my sons results and would be with us shortly. He hadn't even read the report before we got there! He read it to us quickly in the office from a distance. When I stopped him to question the results, he became agitated and told me he was the "Dr." The report revealed that my son is very depressed and anxious. (I brought to his attention that depression and anxiety run co-morbid with ADHD) He negated my sons prior diagnosis of ADHD (by 6 other Dr.s) Christiansen said he wasn't a big fan of

Be prepared to shell out lots of money for testing. You won't get any opinion or help without a full day of testing. Then if tests don't tell him anything... your left in the cold. No suggested next steps . Oh there was the recommendation to admit my wife into the phsyc ward committing to monitor the situation only to find out he was headed on vacation as he made the recommendation. See this guy the same way you would an MRI machine. Cold, uncaring and only able to give you limited information for someone else to deal with

I underwent neuropsychological testing. His team summarized my testing in a report that appeared rigorous, and I found it somewhat interesting. I received this report during a counseling session about one month after my testing. During that follow-up appointment, he indicated that any further services rendered by his department would be futile. The appointment was concluded with speculative counsel.

Very poorly written report; little to no time spent directly with my child - most of the testing was done by office staff. The report was written so poorly that the school questioned the validity of all the testing. As an added bonus, obtaining an additional copy of the report was ridiculously rigid and

Dr. Ben was awesome! He helped my daughter recover from a traumatic brain injury. He knew exactly what to have her do. He relates to teens very well. He listened to our concerns and made us feel that he cared. We recommend him to anyone recovering from TBI!

My mother went in for day long testing to see how her dementia was progressing. Not once did he come in to see her. When we went in for the results we were kept waiting for TWO HOURS! And all he did was read the results from a paper. He did not say "how are you feeling? ", no compassion, she was a paycheck to him. His diagnosis was wrong compared to other doctors as well. The staff were irritable and impatient.

I originally took my mother to see Dr Christiansen after an car accident in which she suffered a brain injury. The cognitive testing revealed that she was in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. Although my mother is difficult to deal with Dr Christiansen treated her with respect and dignity. I had testing done myself because of the high incidence of Alzheimer's in my family and in my opinion the testing was professionally administered. And now I have a baseline for future comparison.

I have been seeing Dr. Christiansen and have been extremely pleased. His staff is always polite and accommodating. Dr Christiansen is very personable and easy to work with. His honest and direct approach is quite refreshing. I greatly appreciate the fact that he doesn't waste my time with worthless chatter but gets right to the issue. His problem solving is phenomenal and I have been nothing but pleased with the care he has provided.

I've with Dr Christiansen for a few years and has been very helpful in getting 2 of my children evaluated and working out a plan of action. Took the time we needed for questions and explaining things to us so we understood everything. He is almost always on time. Very kind and respectful. It has been a pleasure to work with him!

It is not easy when you realize your child is not like everyone else. Dr Christiansen has been wonderful! He actually cares about us and our outcome. He is upfront and does not tell me what I want to hear, but what is real. The path of treatment we have been on the last few months is helping my child. We have a long road ahead, but we have answers and a game plan that will be altered as needed. I love that he is always checking in and will answer all my questions no matter how long it takes!

I was referred to Dr. Christiansen for the diagnosis of my son. He was incredibly personable and very (dare I say) human in speaking with the both of us. He made sure we understood each and every form, test and motivation behind them. When My son took his tests his staff was just as thorough and just as personable according to him (getting a 13 y/o to say nice things about docs and nurses is hard). With the results, he made sure we understood each as well as the diagnoses. Plus an extra test!

Dr. Christiansen does a poor job explaining patient treatment plans and what expectations he has of the patient. He does not provide enough information to patients to allow them to make informed decisions. His medical assistant is rude and demeaning and will hang up on you if they become irritated with your questions or attempts to obtain more information. Attempts to file complaints result in Dr. Christiansen making false statements in defense of his rude medical assistant.
