She shouldn't be prescribing
This woman should not be prescribing. She really screwed up my dads meds and now won't help him get them straightened out. She has severely damaged his mental state and just gives an appointment date for three weeks later and over the phone. Don't go to her. Save yourself.

She Got Me
I’ve been a patient almost 3 years. I never opened up to any other practitioner in 45 like I have with Dr. Penn. She’s a Friend, confidant, mental health helper. Has encouraged me to be more myself than what I project for other people. And if they don’t like/approve/care (?) F*** ‘em If They Can’t Take A Joke. I’ve lived/earned the right to do as I think is best for myself and not have to BE TOLD WHAT TO DO/SAY/ACT

Dr. Penn was kind, attentive, highly informed, easy-to-talk-to, and she gave me some excellent recommendations. I was completely comfortable around her, and I'll continue to see her.

I wish NO STARS was an option. I established patient status and saw her only once. That was enough to never see her again! She is a nurse who can prescribe medication which she seems very uneducated about. She is unethical in her practice. We had a treatment plan that involved several medications. I made a follow up because she wanted to see me but never sent in the medication I’ve been on for years. Withdrawal due to her negligence was terrible. I could have had a seizure! She finally returned my 5th VM stating, “The reason I am not returning your calls.....” what kind of responsible individual who last saw me suddenly decide she just doesn’t want to do something?! Mind blown with her lack of responsibility, professionalism and how she put my health at risk!! This woman shld NOT have a license to prescribe or see anyone especially if this is detrimental to the patient she is seeing. I strongly suggest you look elsewhere for treatment.

Janice is the worst! Very unprofessional! Will never be going back to her. She doesn’t really care about how you feel she just cares about getting paid! These are real people going through real problems that need your help! Perhaps this isn’t your field and you should retire , sorry excuse of a “Dr.”

Dr. Penn talks about her rep of overdiagnosing bipolar but knows she's right, she shares stories. She may be right in some cases but she STARTED with a bipolar diag after limited inquiry into my teen's mental state. (I use they instead of he or she to protect my child's identity.) She diag'd my teen with Bipolar in our 1st meeting because of their "ups and downs." Dr. put my child on 3 separate antipsychotics, all of which caused bad side effects. When my child didn't shower for a full week, or get out of bed, & cried constantly (NEVER been like that before), Dr. said we should add a 3rd med. I refused. I challenged Dr on her diag & starting with antipsych's but she was committed. We were limited by our ins but finally got a referral to a prescribing psychologist, who diag'd my child with anx & depr. They are SO much better on the new med. It's hard to disagree with a Dr. I knew what my child was NOT (bipolar) but I didn't know what the right diag was. That's why we go to a doctor.

horrible ! not only is she VERY unprofessional makes clients wait several hours past appointment set time, & when you finally get seen she ignores you while working on other peoples charts ,highers meds putting you at risk for overdose instead of trying to help with the real problem, will yell at you if you question her on her poor care of you & pushes you out the door ! worst care ever received don't ever go to her for care (Psychiatric/Medicine)

Dr. Penn is extremely knowledgeable and gives her patients the time they deserve in their appointments because of this sometime her appointments tend to run late and she can get behind. From my experience with DR. Penn I would have to say that she is more then fair with her treatment plans for her patients and might not give her patients what they want but what they need. DR. Penn has always listened to my concerns and answered my questions respectfully.

Dr. Penn is incredible. She saved my life with her diagnosis and treatment. She is laid-back, funny, easy to talk to and she really listens. She takes as much time as needed to answer every question and she answers questions if you call during the week. She also does a gene test to make sure the medication is right for you. Helped me realize why the meds I was prescribed in the past failed. The waiting time can be long because she spends as much time as needed with her patients.

Good doc, listens, and prescribes the minimum instead of overprescribing meds. If you're looking for a pill mill, look elsewhere, this doc is about helping you help yourself.
