A bit aggressive and confrontational. I don’t like being shut down and told not to talk about something — that’s the whole reason I went to therapy. If I paused for too long after she asked me question then she would raise her voice and say things like ‘are you going to answer the question?’ Like dude I need a minute to think, not just 3 seconds. Or if it took me too long to start talking about some issues (at the beginning of the session), she would also get mad and say ‘are you just not going to talk?’ Or ‘why would you come to therapy if you aren’t going to say anything?’ I mean this was after like 5 seconds and it takes people a minute to open up sometimes. A good therapist will ask a lot of questions at the beginning to get a feel. But every appointment I had felt like a confrontation and that I was always “doing therapy wrong,” if I didn’t answer or say things fast enough.
